Question about batch cropping for any Adobe Photoshop/Image Ready gurus out there ...

I manually crop out the white space in the photos that I use in the galleries on this site. As you can imagine, that's a lot of work given the number of photos that I post on this site. The problem is that I can't just tell it to crop in the same place each time, which is why it requires me to manually crop all of the images. I keep thinking that there has got to be a way to somehow automate the cropping process. It seems like there would be a way to use the magic wand to either select the figure or the background and figure out a way to use the dimensions of what has been selected as the dimensions to crop. I'm open to suggestions to see if there's a way to automate this process some more.

- Here's a shrunk down version of a raw file from my camera. The image at 7.1 megapixels is 3072 pixels which I then crop which you can view in the image below.
