Well the rumors have started to surface with the whole live action movie thing happing that cartoon network is going to produce a new G.i.Joe series based off the 25th anniversary set of figures. According to an article in entertainment weekly a couple of weeks ago hasbro wants to make it during the adult swim viewing time so they can have more action than if they put it on earlier, also this would allow for more adult story lines as well. At this stage it is just a rumor so take this with a grain of salt. Considering the live action movie is more than a year away so if this even happens that would put the t.v. show at somepoint during the 09 or 10 t.v. season.

If this is true, I hope it's better then Sigma6 and those straight to DVD movies.

Don't get me wrong, they had alot of cool stuff going on, but they also made it a point to include alot of slap stick zanny noncence.

Adding humor to a character or story is nothing new, and very nessicary. It's a spice, to be used when needed, not a sidebar to let the writers get off easy and hope the masses chuckle along blindly.

I hope they learned from the past two attempts, and do it right this time around. Write smart not easy and I bet GIJoe will take off again.

Hmmm, a good cartoon coming to Adult Swim.

Wow, that'll boost the number of good shows on AS to 4. 5 if you count Futurama(since they can't air it anymore)

heres to hoping it will be more like the classic marvel comics....

I knid of thoguht this would happen, but not on Adult Swim. I thoguht it would end up as a show for the kiddies, but Adult Swim? Sweet deal!

I'm hoping it won't be anime and be true to the origional toon and this time we won't see any brat especially the one we seen on Sigma 6

For me it was that stupid mechanical dog that ruined it. As soon as the kid fell in love with it... it stopped watching.

Though I just wish they'd show the entire original series on Adult Swim.

I never read the comics

Like with G1 I did read those comics but I liked the tv shows better

i hope it's not like all the other G.I. Joe cartoons i've seen! I remember watching the original and hating it because everytime they got shot down they would parachute out of the plane! I was a sick child. I've seen the sigma six cartoon and it was'nt that bad. I liked the cartoony figures they were pretty cool! Adult Swim should let them have alot more freedom to have more violence and adult oriented stories, but might not gain the widest fanbase possible (younger children and kids).

new joe cartoon would rock, i agree with you guys, i hope its more adult oriented which is most likely if its going to be on adult swim. but theres also the point you guys brought up about kids not being able to see it as easily, hopefully it works itself out. new joe figures after the movie would rock!

i liked sigma 6 series it seemed darker than the original series with a bit touch of comedy included
