Ok, this is one of those games that I've been dying to relive on my Wii. I was hoping to figure out how to do the classic Konami cheat so that I can get 30 lives just like back in the day when I was a kid, but I'll be damned if I can get it to work with the Wiimote or the classic Controller plugged into my Wiimote. Has anyone else downloaded this game yet for the Wii's Virtual Console and gotten the Konami cheat to work? I need 30 lives more than ever because I absolutely suck at video games!!

I tried the following code right after a reset or right when the game's title menu just starts to form Super Contra.

UP UP DOWN DOWN LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT B A START (or Select - Start for 2 player)

Couldn't get either to work. Please help! My dudes are dying left and right (get it?).

Yea for some reason some codes won't work on VC games, I can't do the all cars cheat for F zero x thanks to this.(the hard way to get them is REALLY hard)

The best I think you could do is checking the operations guide and check the button placements. Sometimes buttons get rearranged for certain games.

Breath of Fire II has my vote for best game this time around. Of course, that doesn't mean I'm not downloading Super C.

Hardly ANY old cheat codes work on the VC.

Just fyi. I learned it the hard way for Kid Icarus.

There are usually new codes to replace them.

We all really need to be trading Friend codes...

and playing Mario Strikers Charged in league play together. :grin:

turns out that the console friend code is different than the code used for Strikers.

1030 pm pacific the latest, but we could also do 2pm pacific, right before I get into work. If anything, just search for me when you're on the friend roster online, and you'll see if im there, and vice versa.

regarding the extra lives code, I guess the konami code isn't used here. According to Wikipedia, "The code is right, left, down, up, A, B in Super C"

Wait, wait, wait. Contra is on the Wii's Virtual Console now? Damnit! I've only got 400 points, and it's a 500 point game! (How I keep ending up with 400 points every damned time is beyond me...)

Oh and I've gotten codes to work on the VC. The level select and life cheat works for Streets Of Rage. (Choose Settings (but don't click into it) and hold right on the control pad while pressing ABC at the same time on second controller. Keep holding it the entire time, then press Start on the first controller to activate.) You'll get 7 lives and extra easy, plus the level select.

I don't have a wii but found this code on gamefaqs for Super C

On the title screen, press Right, Left, Down, Up, A, B, then Start 10 Lives (Player 1)

On the title screen, press Right, Left, Down, Up, A, B, Select, then Start 10 Lives (Player 2)

On the Title Screen, hold down A+B then Press Start. Access Sound Test

At the title screen, after you've beaten the game, press , A, and then start. Retain Old Score and # of Lives on New Game
