I think it all looks great! very creative. and I think you should keep the visor.

Definitely keeping the visor, but should I leave it removable or glue it permanent?
I guess no one noticed I had the thighs on backwards. I fixed it.

Up to you, but I wouldn't see the need to remove the visor ever. And no, didn't notice about the thighs.

Still curious about the other wingside. Especially since using only one as the turret leaves that one side looking hollow.

EDIT: One idea I had. I know putting both 'wings' on the top to make the turret ends up making that one cannon off-center. But I was thinking, if you were willing to do so, you could cut/remove the blade on the other wing and replace it with a minigun mount of some kind. Sort of like an accompaniment light weapon to go with the cannon. Then, the cannon being off-sided almost seems like it's by design.

But I don't know how it'd look with both wings up there. Plus, I know you've already drilled a hole for the one half. I couldn't tell you how to recenter the thing with two turret halves MEANT to split in half for the jet mode.

Maybe if you push them closer together to close the gap. You'd have to have the wing resting over the shoulder, but should still look pretty good. Or, and I know you said this is supposed to be light on actual bashing, but you could build a flip out panel to cover the gap as well. Its very inventive and looks very good though.

I wonder if you could make a new pair of "half" cannons that fit where the cannon/sword does, that combine to corm a gig-ass cannon in tank mode. Wouldn't have to mode anything just make that cannon(s) from stratch..

One thing I don't want to do is get rid of the sword, because Blitzwing has a sword and gun and I'd like to keep that with this guy. Though it may look ok in a picture the turret can't move. What good is a non pivoting tank gun? l do have an extra big purple gun from another Starscream I was thinking I could do a little bashing to make it fit and connect the 2 pieces together. That would center the gun and bridge the gap all in one, but then I would have to make it work as a gun in bot and jet mode too. And it still wouldn't pivot.

Just so you know. I didn't drill any holes. The peg on his chest and the sunglasses are all the modifications I made. The hole the peg fits into is the same hole that attaches it to his arm in bot mode, the back hole.

Thanks for all of the nice compliments. Let's get some more repaints and bashes posted. Anybody who can do scratchbuilds working on the transtopia bot?
Any thoughts on who or what I should do next?

How hollow is his chest cause I had an idea..

Image
yes its paint, Im not very good with anything but.. and im not very good with it as is..

Why dont you put flat tabs on the wing sections and put a rotating piece in the chest, cover it with a sigle (why not?), and just have the covers peg them into the "Turret." Presto instant cannon turret.. thoughts?

I've just had a thought regarding the turret, sort of following on what Pun said. I independently came up with the idea of combining the two weapon pods into a single turret. Personally, I quite like what you did with the two halves, but it does very much look like they're just slotted in, and doesn't provide the pivot you want.
Might it be feasible to add some sort of mounting that attaches to the head in tank mode? That way you've got the pivot built in, on the neck joint - or, alternatively, construct a hood-type piece that's mounted on the torso, above and behind the head, which the pods could then attach to.

Very feasible. I would still have to make something to combine the 2 halves together with a gun in the middle, and that's to much work for the limited time I have for customizing. And I like him just fine the way he is for now. Maybe I'll do more in the future. Thanks for the suggestions though, but for now he's really just a repaint.
Heres some pics of other Screamers for those of you who haven't seen them before.

I don't remember seeing the Star Sabre before. That's pretty cool... and a doddle to transform, by the look of it!
How well does it hold together in jet mode, though? I don't know about the Supreme, but on the GF Starscream there's no catch to lock the front and rear torso together in that mode, so unless you had it laying down, it'd just flop.

the legs move with a clicking mechanism. I'm not sure what to call it, but it locks into many positions. He is a very poseable bot. Paint on those joints makes him that much sturdier. As a temporary solution to fill in the gaps I use his guns, which are from BTR Prime. I wanted him to have extra length. He still needs some repainting on the wings also. I'm also using Screamers head in an attempt at an Alternators Gestalt Defensor.

That's not what I meant. I've tried configuring my Starscream the way you have for Star Sabre, and because there's no lock between the torso halves, if you pick it up by the front, the back flops down, and vice versa.

It works fine for the normal jet mode, or for any of the potential tank modes you could do, because once the legs are folded up, they grip onto the upper arms, which holds the back in place. But with the legs extended it just flops down, as if transforming to robot mode.

Yes but he explained that they don't flop because of the clicking mechanism.

GF Starscream and Cybertron Starscream are different sizes. Cybertrons is much larger and has cicking joints in his hips, knees and arms. unlike the GF version.

I know they're different sizes, but I'm not talking about the hips, knees and arms, though. The GF version has clicking joints there too.

I'm talking about the front and rear halves of the torso. You know, the cockpit section and the tail section? I'm saying that normally, when they're folded together for jet mode, the only thing that's holding them in that position is the fact that the knees butt up against the elbows.
With the legs extended like this, if you pick it up by either end, the other end will drop, unless there's some way of locking the torso together on the Supreme mould that the GF one doesn't have.

oh,we didn't quite understand, well basically, because of the weight of starscream, you usually hold him at that point.

The clicking mechanism is called a ratchet joint. And yes it gives much better stability for posing and all, but the waist there has no ratchet joint that I know of and in that ship configuration nothing is holding it up when you lift the figure up from the back, usually the arms hold it up in place but with them stretched out they aren't doing that. Which means the moment you lift it the legs should automatically flop down as the waist trys to fall into place. Unless of course the Supreme version does have a ratchet there or there is something else holding it up.

Ya'll should really pick up the Cybertron version. It locks at the head/torso and cockpit area with a nice resounding pop. lift him by his head if you want and he still won't flop apart.
