I just stumbled across this (and preordered one myself

) and thought I'd share it with everyone here in case anyone else was planning on getting the Takara version.

I already preordered the Hasbro version on HasbroToyShop (known as "Darksteel"), but I'm betting the paint apps will be slightly better on the Takara version (nothing new there

). So if anyone else was planning on picking up this Japanese exclusive version, here's your chance

I hate to break it to you, but if you're expecting a huge difference between the two figures, you're probably going to be in for a disappointment. The history of Movie figs in Japan is (aside from an occasional complete repaint) that they are exactly the same as their US counterpart.

I'd cancel one

Past figures of similar nature (Deluxe Dead End, Swerve and Stalker Scorponok) have been exactly the same as far as I know. I highly doubt things will be different.

Yeah, you guys may be right. It's OK, I'll just have 2 of them if they're identical, if they aren't, then I'll be that much happier

You're willing to spend $54 + S/H for a figure that MIGHT be slightly different than the $12 version? Why not at least wait until you know if it's different? Oh well, it's your money. >:oP

Wow, when the most recent United figures were up for pre-order, they were about $33, now this guy is $54? Is the Takara version supposed to be limited like the Hasbro one is short-packed? I'll be happy with the Hasbro version.

I thought the Mechtech weapons were to be different colors between the two. If push comes to shove and they are the same, open the Hasbro and keep the Takara exclusive sealed.
