Insignia-wise, obviously the Autobot one's sorted, but I'd recommend putting the Decepticon one on the chest in the hollow above the seat. That way it's clearly visible in Counterpunch mode, but in Punch and vehicle forms it's hidden by the back piece. Dunno if that's what you were going to do anyway, but just thought I'd stick my nose in...

Well attempting to make scratchbuilt weapons to fit where the wings used to be. Unfortunately I don't think I'm going to pull it off. the space is so damn thin I can't figure out how to make weapons thin enough that actually look like anything.

Well his weapons won't be storing in his backpack anymore. Just not enough room there to put anything decent, or at least anything I have the skill to create. So instead I'm building his single barrel rifle for Counterpunch and his double barrel blaster for Punch, as well as one or two other little accessories. He's all done, and I'll post pics tomorrow, hopefully the weapons will be all dried as well so I can show them off as well.

Well he's done, weapons and all. Decided to drop the idea of making weapons to hide in the back pack since the space is so small and at least with my skills I couldn't get anything that looked decent small enough to fit. So instead I made two guns similiar to his G1 versions, and a little Energon Knife for when you have to get up close or jsut take them out quietly.
Not going ot post the whole Gallery here, jsut a few pics and a link if you want to check out the rest.

And a link to the full Gallery on my site. I've got my Dragstrip and a custom character named Tumbler on there as well. Need to do new shoots of some of my older guys and put them up as well.

That's snazzy! I have a sneaking suspicion Counterpunch's gun isn't a scratchbuild, though...
The only thing I'd question is why you put two Decepticon symbols right next to each other on the chest. Surely one gets the message across?
Actually I just had a thought. What do think the feasibility is of rigging a transforming gun, sort of like a scaled down version of Razorclaw's cannon, where it turns from one gun to another? That way he could switch forms without having to reach into Trailerland to swap weapons.

Thought about that, jsut not in my ability to make it look very good as of yet.
And no Counterpunch's gun isn't completely scratch built, though Punch's is.
Counterpunches is made up of a few scrap parts from my junk box plus putty and some styrene. So its kind of a Frankenstien gun:) I'm not even sure where all the parts come from, though I think the bulk of it was from Menasor at one time.

Indeed, but that's the way it was in the Rebirth. Hungrrr, Abominus, and Scattershot also had two symbols on their chests.

Yep, I was trying to make him a good homage to both the toy and toon versions. I used the G1 toys helmet and part of his head so that tied in easily, and I though the two symbols on the chest looked good for Counterpunch.
He's kinda saying "Look at me, I'm a Decepticon, yep, just another Decepticon, definitely not an Autobot in disguise. Nope, I'm jsut Decepticon."

No, that explains the arms. I'd definitely be interested to see a close-up of the hands to see how that was handled.
What, when he transformed by raising his arms, dropping them again and changing colour?
That's why I don't rate 'toon reference.

I always liked his Rebirth look. After all if you want the Headmaster's look you can buy the G1 mold, its a straight likeness.
With the hands I jsut puttied on a thumb on the bottom of the hand, with them being black you can't see it unless you look close, the space between the tip of the two thumbs is rather tiny. The arm just folds back, the door panel rotates underneath, and there you go.

Oh of course the way characters transformed in the cartoon was frequently impossible. The symbols however deal with the character's appearance in robot mode, not how he transforms.
