three-part question about Headmasters?

Postby galvamus prime » Wed Jul 11, 2007 1:32 am

Okay, well I bought the StarTV dub of Headmasters off eBay and I'd heard the rumors about how retarded the dubbing was and I've pretty low-standards when it comes to movies and 'toons(i.e.,I though Judge Dredd was pretty decent). But,my God......YOU WON"T UNDERSTAND UNTIL YOU SEE IT! You really won't no how bad it is until you really see The Headmasters dub(Or as I like to call it,"The Adventures Of Phillip And The Robot Train") I must digress from this bashing though as I have a question as well. Okay,1.I'm getting this other boxset on AmazonUK that has the subtitles(my other boxset only has the dub) and I need to know the how UK Money works(in terms of value) in comparasion with US Money. 2.How good are the subs? 3.Is the cartoon/anime actually any good? I mean did the StarTV dudes not do enough research or is this show actually THAT retarded? Thanks,in advance.

1. You can use the Universal Currency Convertor to calculate the price in US dollars.

2. Depends on the company that did them. The ones from Metrodome are the best so far, and they even include the StarTV dub for personal laughter.

3. Granted, it ignores Season 4, but it has some memorable moments. Mind you, the Japanese did things a little bit differently from Headmasters on, the main difference being that the smaller robots are the actual robots that controlled the larger bodies like armored suits.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

Thanks, dude. I really thought no one was gonna answer,I had a total of 95 views and not one post. Ah,and the smaller robots turning into someone's head actually did something??? :-? The StarTV dub just basically had them shout "Head ON!" for a reason never really explained,so the title was like..why is it called that? Headmasters? Are they teachers or something? Major thanks, dude.

They always shout "head on", even in the Japanese original. Though that sounded more like "hey, don!"
Subs are good. You buying the purple-looking Metrodome boxed set? Cause that's the one I have, and it's pretty good. No extras, really - just the option of the Korean English-language dub or subtitles - but the episodes are solid stuff. One of the best series I've seen, to be honest.
A quick estimate of £ Sterling to $US is that £1 = $2 at the minute, rougly. It's maybe $1.91 or something like that.
And Headmaster treats the headmasters themselves in a far better way that "The Rebirth" did. The headmasters aren't bonded humans, but the trasnformers themselves, while the bodies are actually lifeless suits called 'transtectors', which can transform when the headmaster is connected to it. The only downside the that approach is that Fortress Maximus is no longer a headmaster with a headmaster.
