Top 5 Transformers Generations Figures not made yet
Re: Top 5 Transformers Generations Figures not made yet
Swoop is one of my all time favorite Transformers. They aren’t afraid to make Swoop or Swoop like characters. Terrorsaur, Teranotron, Armada minicon, Energon, Cybertron Brimstone, Animated, AOE. But I Want a Generations Swoop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dinobots are awesome. The rest of the Dinobots please!
Predaking/Predacons
Alpha Trion, there are a number of nice repaints that work and make sense, but I really want to see an Alpha Trion as an original mold, not a repaint. Alpha Trion is such a unique character he needs his own unique mold.
Shockwave, I like all of the other variations, but he is so iconic that none of them are good enough. Voyager Shockwave.
Insecticons (Translucent yellow please, or at least more dynamic like FOC Kickback, Basic size is fine, but with better articulation than Bombshell and a little more sculpting in the mold. Like the older basics, like from DOTM and before.)
Sharkitcons
Broadside (some kind of reimaging would be fine, like a jet and speed boat, I feel like the Blitzwing mold would work as well, Tank and Jet).
Eject and Rewind, I’m not convinced of the tank mold, and at retail please.
Chrome Dome would be fun.
Galvatron as a voyager. I know that technically Galvatron and Shockwave have gotten updates. But I think WJ mentioned that this thread has morphed into who needs an update.

The Turbomasters. Including Hyperdrive, despite him never actually getting a toy.
The Aquaspeeders, too. That'd be neat.
Stalker and all his buddies, too. Including Skyquake.

You know, Swoop is one of the few Dinobots that did get a classics style upgrade, albeit a piss poor one. Remember the original Universe line? Well, it was supposed to contain the Grimlock and Swoop toys that eventually ended up in the Armada line. He obviously deserves a place in this discussion regardless (he is on my list afterall), but I did want to put that tidbit out there. Slag and Snarl have been far more ignored, we didnt even get Animated versions of them.

Also, it was never confirmed that the 2 headed pteradon type character seen in the movie was Swoop. He seems more of a slight inspiration rather than a movie version of the character, which is what Grimlock and Slug were.

That Swoop actually isn't half bad. Love the claws.
If a Generations update were designed based on that aesthetic, I'd probably buy it.

There were the itty bitty minicon versions of Swoop and Slag, er Strafe and Slug. Strafe is a question mark, but Minicon Slug was supposed to be G1 Slag.

Oh darn, I meant to write Sludge and Snarl specifically because of those, but the darn movie in my recent memory got things mixed up.
But technically those minicons were not toys of the G1 characters. Those were movie toys from DOTM that took molds for other characters from the Cybertron line.

I thought the minicons were meant to represent the G1 versions like come kind of generational thing. They even had a pic of G1 Slag on the box.

Sure but they didnt change anything to the original issue of those toys which were released in DOTM. And as for pictures on the side of the box, not sure what that means for the little figure that came with strafe

No offense taken on my part. But, for the record I did write: “Swoop or Swoop like characters,” meaning any type of pterodactyl or pteranodon. For AOE I would have preferred a more Swoop like character than a Strafe/Swoop mix. Thanks WJ for providing additional info to expand on my post, that is useful.

No problem, and yeah you did sum up everything well, even mentioning the energon mold which is the one I posted a pic of. And yeah, I definitely want a real deal generations Swoop, its about time we got one.

This is a great topic... I think these are all repeats, but thought I'd share my list anyway.
5. Insecticons
I would be okay with them being small deluxe sized figures.
It would just be cool with have these characters with some decent articulation.
4. Galvatron
Needs to be voyager in size, with alt mode being the CANON, not another tank, please!!
3. Shockwave
Also needs to be a voyager, with alt mode being the classic laser/gun... Again, not a tank, not a marine vessel of some sort, or military vehicle.
2. Predacons
I'm personally tired of seeing cook 3rd party versions... It would be nice if Hasbro would step up and make this right! lol
Besides, at this point, there are a TON of figures out there with vehicle alt modes.
It would be nice to get a little variety out there.
Also, yeah, voyager-sized limbs would be great... But if the figures are quality, I'm not going to whine about Predaking being the same size as Superion.
1. Dinobots
WAAAY past due... My wishful thinking wants a new Grimlock, Slag, Snarl, and Sludge at about Leader Class size. Let Swoop be a voyager.
But come on, Hasbro. Again, I'm tired of seeing these awesome 3rd party versions.
Well, maybe "tired" isn't the right word...
Okay, envious. Either way, it is time!!!!!

I feel JRX/Railracer should be selected for an overhaul. He is awesome in combined mode with minor flaws. I wish I could say the same when in individual bot modes.
Just imagine how awesome it would look with the modern engineering of today!

Titan Class Unicron. Make it happen, Hasbro. (Retooled GDO Armada doesn't count.) I will pay all of the money.
Maybe even a new Primus that becomes Cybertron.
If they do a new Terrorsaur, I hope that they do a redeco like the Walmart exclusive Strafe that came with that Legends Bumblebee.

Ok - late to this party. Just saw this. Bishes.

Firstly - Stalker is a guy in a team of Jets a guy that turns into a missile transport.
Secondly - The missile is actually a rocket and you can attach different figures in his crew to give you a different target in the sights when you look down through it. Neat.
Thirdly - He is the definition of NEON PAIN and is a glorious colour clash to add to your shelf of potentially other eye watering assortment of late G1\early G2 figures.
OR - I could just be singing his praises to be an ass.

Since the time this article was published (last May), both an update to Blackarachnia and Skylynx were revealed.
Blackarachnia was released in the Takara Legends line which mirrored the Hasbro Generations line so IF she counts as a classics Blackarachnia while only being a slight retool and repaint, do these guys count as Classics Dinobots? They were also released under the Generations line.

The pose of these guys......reeks of awesomesauce/bad@ssness! Wish there'd either be an Encore or an update that trully befits the Dinobots (though henkei Grimlock was nice, so far from greatness)
Also, wish TT/Hb would consider making a TV accurate Orion Pax of Wardawn.

No. Not even close. These 'things' aren't even recognizable as dinobots. Sadly, with every purchase of them, it's one more nail in the coffin of a decent, official, generations dinobot update. 3Rd party is expensive, but at least they get it right.
I guess that is something I have to let go of. There is a whole generation out there now that thinks it's okay to pass off the movie figures as traditional characters. They are wrong. They suffer the ignorance of youth, but so did we all at one point or another.

I don't agree at all with your statement. While I agree that these are not "real" Generations dinos, every sales of anything Dinobots will make SURE that an eventual TRUE Dinos Gen updates will come. If a character sell, HasTak make more. Why do you think there was so much Bumblebees at one point? For the previous two movies, he was really popular and his toys sold like hotcakes. So we eventually got a Bee swarm with Prime and DotM.
Now, it's the Dinobots turn. Once they have taped the movie molds dry, we WILL see true Dinos emerge. 200$ for the Platinum set is overkill, but at 100$, those who never got any movie Dinos should not pass this up. And with enough interest, the big suits will see it profitable to mabe do some heavy retooling to make these movie molds into proper Dinos. Give it time. However, if no one is buying anymore, it will take YEARS before seeing another version of them.

This attitude is why we have four crappy transformers movies from Bay. People settling for the cheap crap they do get, instead of holding out for quality product they could get.

Whilst Grimlock himself from the "G1" set of movie Dinobots looks utter crud - the rest aren't too bad. They don't belong in an updated G1 shelf, however. They have something of a Rock-Lord look about them that is kind of fun. I think if they were branded as something other than Transformers I like them as toys....
.... but as a Transformer.... they're just not doing it for me. Nice toys, just not "Transformers" for me.
I'm hoping Titan Wars brings us some Duocons and not just Flywheels and Battletrap either - but new ones too and that they'll all be interchangeable. The smaller vechicle sizes would look cool on the big bases, they could probably have some hole for the Headmaster guys to sit in and then they do a very basic unfold into torso and legs

And this attitude is what put the Transformers brand on the map. You bays haters just can't comprehend that the Bay movies basically SAVED the TF brand. I bet it was the same story back at the time of Beast Wars. Harddcore Geewunners kept whining about change and how the modern TFs looked nothing like the good old days. Meanwhile, the average person buy TFs aplenty, keeping the brand relevant. That way, Geewuners could get their Classics and Masterpeices.
Yet, Geewuners keep whining and whining and whining, never satisfied. There is nothing wrong about being a Geewuner (or Classiker). It's when you guys keep trashing the TF LIFELINE that piss me off.
The movie line and the cartoon line IS WHAT KEEP THE TF BRAND AFLOAT. Whithout them, no classics, no MPs, no G1 reissues. Why is it so hard to understand? So, have a bit more respect toward the other TF lines. You have all the right to not like them. But don't call them "trash". When you do, you are spitting on the very brand you love.
