I'll also defend Beast Machines.
Is it my favorite? No. Was it great television? Also no. But was it the worst? Gods no.
Armada was clearly more horid. Vapid writing, vapid characters, plots that were so dumb that even 5 year old children could see problems with them.
With that in mind... Beast Machines can only really be appreciated as a metaphor. The point in the show is that for the first half of its run, neither the Maximals NOR the Vehicons were right. Megatron wanted to be purely technological, Primal wanted to be embrace the purely organic. Both were extremists in their viewpoints.
Did you get sick of Primal preaching about inner peace and all that crap? Good. YOU WERE SUPPOSE TO!!!
The show wanted you to see that Primal had faults. And that's what people didn't get. They said "He's the good guy, he's suppose to be right. If he says this, the writers must want us to believe this is what good people think."
No.
What ends up happening? One of his own troops (Rhinox) defects due to his extremism, and he loses command to Cheetor.
Eventually he sees the error of his ways and realizes that there has to be a balance. Neither technology nor nature is good OR evil. The Matrix / Oracle wanted there to be a balance, and used both Megatron and Primal to achieve this purpose.
Did it have its faults? Yes. It lost sight of who its characters were (Rat-trap becomes a whiney science type, Black Arachnia becomes the token female, Primal becomes an emo), introduced an annoying child side kick, and due to Fox kids mandate, made a show that use to be about big robots with big guns into a show about robots with energy blasts. I LOVED Beast Wars, and this was not Beast Wars.
But worst? No. It was a flawed experiment that went against the grain--and let's face it kids, sometimes you have to do that. Do you REALLY want to see the same type of show all the time?
If you liked your vapid Armada cartoons, that's your own choice.

I dont wanna say that I hate any Series but there are ones I definitely dislike.
I think All the Beast Wars stuff was Stupid. Im sorry But whos ever Idea it was to Make a Gorilla and T- Rex the leaders of the Autobots and Decepticons and have a army behind them that consists of Hippo's Bee's and I think a Beaver (maybe?) and so on.... SHOULD BE SHOT! I think the moment when I saw a Hippo talking to a Gorilla and calling him Optimus Prime I thought to myself "Am i High?". THIS IS STUPID!
All the Unicron Trilogy stuff was Ok I just didnt like their look. There was so much BULK and so much excess Attachments on them. They looked so Boxy and Bulky. I missed the emotion in there faces and expressions cuz they were so armored-up.
And the Voice acting was very Bland. They sounded very much like HUman People. There were no Crazy Insane voices. Voices that pushed the limits of Voice acting like you had in G1 (i.e. Starscream,Megatron,Soundwave,Trypticon,Bruticus ect.)
And as for the new Transformers Animated series, if it doesnt Pick up soon its going on my list , but its already coming in at a close 3rd.

A little corrent puncutation and some clean up and this may actually be readable. But I get the gist. And you just proved my points for me. Just (trying very hard) to read this, I can see that you've NEVER actually watched the series. Otherwise you would know that the series wasn't about Autobots nor Decepticons, I don't know of any Hippo in the series, there are no bees either (there is a Rhino and a Wasp, but I would hope that you could tell the difference between a Hippo and a Rhino - if not, God help this generation), and there were definately no Beavers (I can't imagine what you mistook this for). Maybe you should watch something before giving a blanket condemnation, otherwise you come off as one of the rather ignorant - "Truk not Monkey" crowd. I don't say anything about Energon nor Cybertron because I never actually watched the series. I did, however, see a lot of RID and found it horrid. I know the premise (such as it was) and I know about the characters rather extreme quirks which only served to impress that these rather advanced robots couldn't seem to control themselves. They all seemed to suffer from ADD and OCD.

R.I.D. was complete and total crap. Animated isn't far behind it if
the writers don't get their collective head out there asses.
Beast Wars and Beast Machines are the best Transformers series EVER.

i love statements like that, i wouldve actually listened so much more to your comments and those like them if you added the phrase IN MY OPINION!!!!!!!! Seriously, i havent watched beast wars for years, im actually considering watching the thing again because i believe i may have been to hard on it, i seriously disliked it the first time, but i was young and judged it too harshly against G1, ill probably love the damn thing now. However, im betting you havent watched the whole of RiD because the series picked up brilliantly towards the end, and it may be a bit quirky, but it was a bit of fun, as is animated i dare say (having only watched transform and roll out via youtube i cant really comment).

Umm... I dont know what problem you had reading it, I mean Im lazy with punctuation though but all the words are there but sorry anyway. And yeah I know My mistake Its the Predicons and Maximals Whom are descendants of the Autobots and Decepticons, but the same thing, you get what Alliances they are trying to insinuate cuz they Do refer to their Ancestors throughout the series. So yes I have watched it. I did not however watch the entire series from beginning to end and relish in each episode. And yeah I did get the Creatures incorrect but I havent watch an Episode in over 10yrs. And your right there was no Beaver, it was Rat my mistake again, but even worse than a Beaver. I grew up with G1. I was there in its Hay-Day from the Beginning, from Day 1 , 1984 After School and Everyday, The 1986 Movie, Headmasters and so on into the 90's . I've seen Transformers go through every phase of Every evolution. But when It got to Beast wars It just stumped me. I just didn't feel it was close to reality. Transformers isn't reality to begin with and Beast Wars was even more out of touch with reality. I mean they were Robots that had skin and Fur, C'mon...... And it was silly watching animals talk to each other like they were on some Sitcom. As well as some Die-hard Beast Fans may say the writting was Excellent, for me their conceptual appearance made it hard for me to take it seriously. Plus They just started recycling Names at that point too. I mean I know who Megatron was and who Optimus Prime (Primal) was and they were not them. Why couldn't they give them different Names. Which brings another point of how people always talk about G1 this or G1 that not being good for some reason or another but thats all the other Generations take from. If they are not gonna have any of the same personality traits then Make-up New Names for Christ-sake!
Anyway Im not trying to start War its just my opinion.

And neither am I, but this seems to be a far more educated post than your previous one. Now it sounds as if though you've actually seen the show, rather than just throw random untrue crap out there with the hopes of slamming it. Beast Wars wasn't a lot of people's cup of tea at first, and some like yourself never liked it. It's a matter of opinion. I too was there from the beginning. I remember getting home from my dad's every sunday morning and turning on Transformers (which is where it was in my neck of the woods before moving to weekdays with season 2). My first Transformers toy was Optimus Prime given to me for my birthday. However, I still think that Beast Wars wins hand down for characterization and story content. The name thing wasn't the fault of the writers, it was Hasbro, who had just become rather lazy when it came to naming the characters. They also realized that they needed to staying power of names like Megatron and Optimus. This began to change as the series went on, and more original names were chosen. It was just amazing that the writers of the show were able to take what they were handed and make something really good out of it.
I also find it rather ironic about your comment about Robots with skin and fur... Pretenders anyone? They were even more silly. I also don't find talking animals any more silly than say a talking car, or a talking plane...much less a talking robotic animal. When dealing with things like Transformers, you're already taking the concept of reality with a willing suspension of disbelief, Beast Wars wasn't that much more of a stretch for me.

Beast Machines
and why not it was horrible I personally have never been able to watch every episode but I have tried too and the toy line just made the show worse
easily the worse and will probably always be considered that unless Animated doesnt pick up the storyline soon

Re: Which Transformers series is the worst?
I'm just gonna say this.
It's a show for like, 5-12 year olds.
And with the new movie an exception, it's gonna be like that.
If we always had it our way, most of Hasbro and Transformers as a whole would be dead and gone.

Better go back and recheck. Why it did start heavy with the BM hatred there is a strong contender in RID. And it seems they hate the cartoon with only a few not liking the toy. The original poster asked about both and most are only answering to one.
RID is where I cast my vote for worst cartoon. I know they were adapting the pre-made asian toon for US audiences but it was horrid. Even as a "kids" show it was horrible. A flying shark and those stupid thought balloons.
As for toy I will say that Beast Machines had the worst overall toys. The cartoon though is well above not only RID but Armada and Energon.
