Looking for some help with production of Constructicons

Postby Jayson26 » Sat Aug 08, 2009 4:03 pm

I'm Looking to design a custom Devastator to the point that maybe even Hasbro might consider producing it. I have ideas and I can draw naturally well, but I'm not capable of making custom figures. All Im asking is when I design them I hope someone will actually build at least 2 copies using my designs, 1 for me and 1 for themselves(or how ever many the want to).

I have some concept pictures posted in the Fanart section under constructicon/Decepticon artwork.

I have the most of the transformation (or "instruction") sequences set. I just need to do some more aestetic work on the characters.
I want some opinions on what I have planned, and definately someone to try and take on this task. I will even offer money to assist in having this done.

I know there are some talented builders out there, and again if I design this and generate good feed...HasTak may even look into this... Workable? sure. Could this be used in different ways (If Hasbro doesnt give up on repaints and used the designs)? Definately. would people want to see a mass production of these figure? As long as its affordable. Im going to think like the (good) designers! Who hasn't been waiting for a proper classics Devastator?... basically if they dont use it then Im sure someone like FansProject might...

I see it working, even if I did all the design work for them they'd have it all right there. They'd be damn stupid to let this go by, The feedback should hopefully gain some intrest. I'm really serious on doing this and I'm not giving up till I see a proper fully articulated set of Constructicons...I know Im not the only person here either... I can draw well and short of blueprinting is what I'm doing.

Well enough ranting on to the Ideas, I want feedback so suggestions would be REALLY appreciated.

- Things like the idea of having the launchers/forearms of G1 devastator as the launcher/fists of this one, that just clip onto his forearms and can still fire off like the G1 version did. They can also attach to the vehicle modes.

- Mixmaster will have his drum as a backpack so it's free to turn in all modes, and a panel could open to store Mixmaster's launcher. Which can fire some double tipped missile.

- I was thinking of having the Limb components be deluxe or voyager, while Hook and Longhaul would be voyager or ultra. His legs/bucket halves would plug into Devy's leg components. Arms could clip into the Hook's wheels (in a "Scramble City" kind of way)

- Hook's windshield would fold open and hooks gun would be in there, or just have a gun already in there to pop out. his crane(or hook), could also fold back to have Devy's "shoulder gun" pop out. Devy's head would turn around and fold face down to look like part of the control station of the crane. His head of course could turn 360 degrees.

- Instead of Hook folding sideways like the G1 version, I was designing him to fold in half at the waist and connect to the top (or back) of Longhaul. Long Haul is pretty much going to have a transformation like the G1 version but without those purple pieces. So Hook could also attach to Long Haul's back

- Devastators Rifle can be made up of the separate guns of the other members.

- Scavenger is going to have the crane arm fold up better as an arm component and his tread/legs are also going to make up the forearm that the fist/launcher attaches to, making scavengers hips Devy's elbows. I was also thinking on the launcher attaching to Scavangers forearm as a weapon...maybe give him a drill?

- Bonecrusher... make the shovel fold into Devy's toes and give his heel better support by basically folding the arms up like the arms and shoulders of Energon Barricade.

- Scrapper's treads also swing together to create a forearm for Devy.
His fist/laucher can attach to the end to create an arm and can attach to Scrapper's arm and back in Robot mode as well as being mounted to the hood.

- I have alot of ideas that are plausible and basically I'm designing disected character sheets. I know it seems complicated but hopefully someone will do me this favor.

let me know what you think, and very much hopefully this idea will come to fruition.

Thank you all
