Wow, what an extremely nerdy statement. The point is the designs for the movie characters are extremely unoriginal, for all the reasons you mentioned. It's just a rehash of everything that's been done before, in some lame attempt to make him look cool to a more mainstream audience.

Keeping the TF movie design closer to the original source material would actually be more visually striking than what they've been doing, simply because we haven't really seen that on the big screen, with the exception of the old TF movie. Instead we get these horrible looking Aliens-Predator-Terminator-Mecha amalgamations.

Unless you're a hopeless fanboy, you have to admit the last movie was garbage, and this new one will be more of the same. That's the sad truth.

Think you're confusing your opinion with fact in your last statement, I thoroughly enjoyed the first movie, please don't call all people who did hopeless fanboys. I like G1 but the blocky, man in a robot suit look wouldn't work on the big screen, the movie look is a refreshing change to Transformers, which, at the end of the day are ALIENS. They shouldn't look like a car/truck thats just stood up with a head on top

Oh, I completely forgot to state my reaction to this guy. Well, here goes...

Oh... my... goodness! I WANT THAT THE FALLEN!!!!! That thing looks amazing! Just maybe a few different color choices and this thing would be perfect.

He is so going to rock the big screen this summer!

The colors in those pictures do seem different than the colors we've seen in previous photos of the toy (which was sill greenish, but much darker). It's definitely different, even for the movie line, but overall, I like it. Then again, I am a pretty hopeless fanboy

Doesnt look that bad to me ! At least he has legs and feet. Back in 1986 when sombody decided to give Wreck-Gar, and Scorge mustaches and beards we learned that trandsformers could have organic features. This guy is not too far off from movie 1 Megatron or the upcoming soundwave...straight up alien. I think he looks cool and Im hoping for a realy dope cybertronion jet mode.

I'll wait for the repaint.

You guys do know that, despite him being a Voyager, this The Fallen toy is the almost the same height as Leader Class Megatron from the first movie toyline.

I actually like a lot of the movie designs. I have to admit that I am a huge G1 fan, but some of the newer stuff is very interesting, and it is a nice change for the franchise-variety is good. I collect what I like whether it is Universe, Animated, Movie etc and I think it's kind of silly to argue over which line of TF's is better. I mean, I am not the biggest fan of the Animated line, but there are a few figures in that line that I consider to be must-haves for anyone who like Transformers. There is something good about ALL Transformer IMO. That might just be fact, actually!

I just love how clever the designers are being,I mean come on guys they heard the fan base whinging,they were asked by hasbro to make them more G1 esque and they made this!Its was made to whined us up and get us stouting and screaming at one another,Brilliant!

i agree with you. thats true,i have what i feel is the best from each line.but these wiedo's like transformers to, and try to force you to like what they like if you dont they call you name,and try to insult you.
