So Clocker has been Clocker, Swerve, Cheetor, Tigatron and now a 5th version. Even Bendy Prime hasn't had that many repaints.

i actually prefer to think the strongarm as hound! which i will most certainly be picking up!

They work the same way repaints have "worked" in any TF toyline. It just so happens that it's more noticeable here than in something like Energon or Cybertron.
All of these movie scouts with the different style are Energon Omnicon or Cybertron Scout repaints, that's all.

Alright, I dont get it. Obviously a movie toy line blitz is in full effect, but why repaints of recent figures? There's already a handful of non-movie characters with movie designs, but why release repaints of these scouts? I for one like the movie toys and the non-movie characters toys and stuff, but this seems to be overkill.
If this movie tanks, the merchandising end of the deal will look incredibly stupid because they're rolling out everything it seems from the last few years and repainting it. But if it's successful.....

Clocker reminds me of one of the Max-Cops from the OTFCC Magazine.
Strongarm looks like that cancelled BotCon Brawn remold.
And Skyblast is probably based on the G2 Cyberjet Jetfire.
I will pick them up if they're cheap.
Maybe they'll go even further back and repaint Bruticus again in S7 military colors; similar to the monochromatic WalMart exclusive.

I'm totally digging Skyblast. missed him the first time around,, so I'll definitely be picking him up. Love his Energon Weapon.
The other 2, I already have their previous incarnations, so probably will pass on these. Unless Strongarm really looks good in person.
Clocker, i already have the swerve repaint, and I'm really not that fond of the mould. So that's a definite pass.

I love all three of these moulds. But I already own the best versions of each. So forget these ones...

Say... anybody spot the sector 7 logos on Skyblast or Clocker.
Strongarm's Sector 7 logo is on his shoulder. But i can't find the logo in either Skyblast nor Clocker.

Not all that impressed. I didn't paticularly like those three molds the first time around. That "Real Gear" game controller he had up also looked interesting...

Yep, definitely a hint of Diaclone Bluestreak here.

Hmm. We're sure rthese are Movie? And not Classics, by any other name, or being smuggled under the movie brand?
My guesses are that these are homages to:
Hardtop=Swindle
(Realistally, not the Club-happy repaint we got in Cyb)
StrongArm=Hound
Clocker=Blurr, or a longstretch Prowl.
Stioll workin out Arcee/Skyblast.
PS, Are these gonna be available in stores, or as Movie promos with tickets,(read it somewhere on TFW) or what?

Is there something difficult to grasp about seeing these in Movie packaging?

They're retail releases, and the Arcee repaint (not the new-mold Deluxe) had a Target Exclusive sticker on her.
EDIT: Added pic. See it and weep.

I think we already have a fine Classic Blurr with Cybertron Blurr. Okay, he's not a perfect match, but closer than the Clocker redeco.

I like the Clocker repaint. The blue paint really "pops" IMO. But I wouldn't call it Bluestreak. I refuse to use the name of any character that was bigger than a mini-bot in G1, such as Bluestreak, for Basic-sized figure. I could see the red version of this mold (Swerve) as the Cybertron form of Windcharger, but I don't know about the blue. I could see this as either a Cybertron version of Beachcomber or Tailgate. Could I get a vote? Which G1 mini-bot does this blue version of Clocker look the most like? Thanks in advance.
I like Skyblast. I'm not a big fan of most Energon weapons, but at least these darker weapons look better than the bright colors actully used in Energon.
I like the Strongarm mold, but I don't like the greens. I wish it was a dark green, like Hound. There are going to be two versions of Strongarm, so hopefully the other version will have a paint job I like.

Nice! This actually made a news post! thats 2 now total for the time I've been here! (and the first was only like a day ago!)
and I've been taking some more looks at these and can definetly see the g1 homages which I seemed to overlook before, but some of them definetly give a sector 7 vibe (even without the logo)

Little trivia - Clocker and Bluestreak both stand 11 cm tall! Toys are just bigger than they were back in the 80s. Mini-Bots were the size of Mini-Cons, and Autobot Deluxe Cars were more the size of today's basics.
Besides, that Brakedown GTS is a definitel Kup homage.
