MP Prime legs ?

I've bought my MP Prime out of package and w/ no instructions. Lastnight he fell an I discovered his legs slide up. I tried or again by hand and couldn't make them budge. I had to hit the bottom of his foot to make it retract. Is there a trick to this or do you always have to use force?

The gas tanks depress into the thigh and that unlatches the legs to move.
To do this properly, both press in on the tank and down at the same time while the figure is standing.

It pays to look a bit closer before fiddling. Like many figures with a pretty hefty upper body, his telescoping legs have a locking mechanism. You have to press the fuel canisters on his legs to unlock it.

I've looked at those tanks several times and it didn't seem like they did anything. I guess I could have watched a review on YouTube also. Thanks guys.

Sometimes pushing on the tanks doesn't seem to unlock the mech completely.

That's why I said you not only have to push the tank into the leg, but you have to push down on the top of the tank as well.

When I got my MP Ultra Magnus one of his legs would not retract at all. I had to take the leg apart and do some dremel work to make it functional. It's been too long since I did the procedure to remember exactly what the problem was, but I remember there was absolutely no way it could work as it was.
