My Terrorcons and their "Cosmic" Rust Issues

Hey guys, my Terrorcons seem to have contracted the dreaded cosmic rust. For Hun-Grr I can just remove the screw and let them soak in some CLR. But for the others like Sinnertwin who's joint bits cant be removed Id have to soak the entire figure. I was wondering what remedies you guys know about that will take care of the rust and wont damage the plastics. I'm thinking diluted white vinegar, but I don't know much about the plastics used to make the figures.
