he's a gold colored hot rod truck. If you press a button on the hood, the engine lights up red. Has a lightsaber-esqe weapon.

I think he was part of a group from G2. Part of this group was Jolt, a purple colored Decepticon hot rod with similar features (light-up engine, lightsaber weapon)

Kinda sad though is that this mystery figure is in pieces now. Both legs are broke off, left arm broke off, chest piece comes off and isn't supposed to. I played with him too much as a kid. He has to live in a plastic baggy to keep the pieces together.

That would G2 Laser Rod Electro. Him being in pieces isn't due to you playing too much, rather he is a common case of Gold Plastic Syndrome.

Certain Gold Plastics, especially the kinds used in later G1 into G2, are very brittle, to the point the figures fall apart when you don't even look at them funny. Especially G2 Slingshot is a victim, ask the webmaster, or better yet, check his gallery.

Ewww. Just looked at that TFU.info page, and that's a LOT of the nasty Gold Plastic...

No kidding, my Thunderclash's cab shattered at a tiny point at my first transformation attempt ("luckily", it is on a point that doesn't affect anything, but I didn't risked even opening his box ever since)
