I bought ROTF voyager Skywarp the other day with the intention of improving his arms and painting him as Starscream. The trouble is, he has a different head and looks so cool in purple and black (my fav pigments!) so now I'm confused. What do you think I should do after upgrading his arms? Paint him in realistic colours to resemble Starscream or leave him purple and black but give him some weathering and damage?

Well, that's going to be a LOT of work for no real benefit. Painting black to white or vice versa is difficult to make look even and it will rub, scratch and chip away leaving noticable gaps in color.

There already are Starscreams available in the 07 Movie tan, 07 Movie Deep Space silver and G1 white, blue and red. The only one that has a head like the Skywarp you already have is the G1. The head itself is known as the G1 head (very original of us.)

I'd keep the Skywarp as it is. As you said, the color scheme is awesome. And others have already made better arms for the mold.

Hope I helped!

Aw jeez, sorry Mykltron. I didn't realize it was you. I broke it down like you where a newby! Still, I wouldn't use the Skywarp, he's too cool for heavy bashing.

Zodconvoy, I don't think uneven paint is an issue as I'd cover him with dirt anyway! But I quite like the idea of keeping him as Skywarp and getting the new ROTF SS. I had him for a while and got rid of him cos I couldn't think of a way to sort out those stupid arms but now I think I could perhaps find him some new arms but keep his hands.

So far for Skywarp I've got rid of the canons and added a 2nd joint to each finger, made a Movie Starscream style gun for the left arm, added a gattling gun to the right arm (like in the film) and made his hips more mobile. I'm not sure if I'll give him a ball joint neck yet but I'm trying to decide what to do about making him look more real.

it sound like a daunting task.... i think youre just better off getting one of the existing movie starscreams. and pluys, we're still getting a leader starscream if youre looking for something that more movie accurate. but if you decide to go with your project, good luck!

The trouble with the existing Starscreams so far is that they're rubbish, that's why I'm doing this/these project(s). Besides, it's nice to have a project to get stuck into! Although I'm impatient and want it finished NOW.

I'll probably get the Leader Starscream and he'll go nicely with things like Leader Prime and Voyager Ironhide but I'd like a smaller SS to go with smaller Primes.
