They cancle Titanium Shockwave and Cosmos but they give us this... I can't even find a word to describ this pieace of plastic garbadge.
Give us the figures we all love and miss like Jazz, Cosmos, Shockwave, Blaster (the real blaster not a redecco of cybertron soundwave), Galvatron.
Can't wait for the Universe line to come back. Really hating the ROF toys.
Definattly not spending my money on them
You are, clearly, in the Minority.
Also, as a huge Galvatron fan, I feel the need to inform you that the Universe Deluxe Galvatron is actually a really fun, cool toy.

While I was going to debate the minority comment ('cause I was feeling the same as TheAllSpark was) I have to say, after looking at the number of comments, that we would be in the minority. I also have to disagree about the Universe comment (not the Galvatron comment) and say that I hope it doesn't come back soon unless it is under the supervision of a whole new team.
As for this toaster...1) It could be worse, they could have made it Voyager class...and 2) I do have to hand it to Hasbro. They pulled something off that I nver saw coming and it is such an obvious target that it really isn't even fun to make fun of it. You really can't help but resign yourself to the fact that it's out there now so might as well enjoy it for what it is. The only thing they should have done different (and this was inspired by an earlier post in the thread) was name it Scorch.
I'm still P.O.'ed that we got this...thing...instead of a full market release of Dispensor (or the Nokia hell-bot, that would have been cool) but I suppose it beats some of the A-E-C Mini-cons they insulted us with in years past.
NuclearConvoy wrote:I have a sneaking suspicion that we may get a Dispensor by the end of this toyline.
Also, what do you see as wrong with the current Universe design team?

You aren't just trying to mess with my head on the Dispensor thing are you?
It won't work, my heads already messed with but I'm sure you already had your suspicions.![]()
As far as the question about the Universe line, that's just one of those grey areas where half the time I feel like bitching but the other half I don't feel like I'm justified in doing so. It's a lot like dealing with Art or Music. It's all subjective, it's a matter of personal opinion, likes/dislikes/tastes.
There have been so many arguments about it (I should know, I started a lot of them) that I'm becoming burned out and overly critical of everything that's coming out now. My feeling on Universe has to do with the choice of figures for the line and the number of repaints and recycles they are using. I thought Universe was supposed to be something fresh, a continuation of Classics which was supposed to be a tribute to G1.
As for the Movie line, I just don't know what to think. Maybe I'm just getting too old and burned out on this stuff. I had about a 10 year break from my late teens to late 20's but the last 6 years have been especially hardcore into it and maybe I'm just losing my objectivity, at least as far as the toys are concerned. I'm excited for the Movies, I've enjoyed collecting the comics again but the toys just don't thrill me as far as design and construction.
Heeeyyy, wait a minute. You aren't going to charge me $75.00 for a 50 minute hour for this are you? If you are I better get some damn meds out of the deal!
The only thing I see as keeping them from making a TF1 accurate Dispensor toy is the company that owns Mountain Dew (is it Pepsi-Cola or Coca-Cola that owns the Dew?)needs to sign off on it.

This is what Transformers is all about. Untried alt modes, fun for the KIDS to play with, and giving another quirky character into an ever expanding universe.
Also there was a toaster in the G1 Marvel continuity, and nobody seems to mind when a silly alt-mode is used in that.

Don't forget G1 Ramjet, who likes toast.

If the Movies comic adaption is any indicator then get ready for more cool/dumb ideas. I don't know how they are going to pull off a blender but after seeing this little bugger, a blender can't be that far behind.
(Thank Primus the accident that spawned this guy happened in the kitchen. If it were in a bedroom, they wouldn't be able to market the after-affects in a regular retail store)
T-Macksimus wrote:Personally I think if they really want to up this little dudes popularity, give him a french accent. I mean seriously, who doesn't like...French Toast?
Cyclonus_Maximus wrote:I like the "appliances-that-transform" concept, like the All Spark brought the Mountain Dew machine to life in TF1. But why give these guys mundane names? Ejector just isn't creative. Neither is Grindor, Rotor, etc. If I was this little Decepticon, I would call myself Menace or something street tough like that--something that commands respect even though I'm small. I wouldn't be thinking about, "Oooo I can make bread pop up out of me after I scorch it. I'll call myself Ejector! Then the world will fear me!!"
