NEW TRANSFORMERS MOVIE G1!

Got a great pic of G1 Op or BW Megs? Whether it's 2-D or 3-D it's welcome as is any other form of art outside the custom figure world.

NEW TRANSFORMERS MOVIE G1!

Postby sekse » Tue Jun 26, 2007 9:19 pm

Ok, everyone. You all wanted a movie based on G1? The original transformers and the original story line, just vamped up a little bit? Well here you go. I am making a live action fan art film. It is called Transformers Armageddon, and it should be out in 2008. Go to the site below to find out more!

Dude I'm sorry but I don't like the terminator meets transformers theme you got going on with your characters. I think an alternators approach is the best way to have convincing transformations of real vehicles.

Ok, guys, well if you all think it sucks and you can do better than come on and help out! This movie is supposed to be built by the fans, so rather than bashing it, help create it! I am giving us all the power to make the movie the way WE want it, not some group hell bent on making millions. Problem is, a bunch of hinged blocks with car parts stuck to them looks like a toy in a real world environment, like an episode of Robot Chicken. I want to make something that looks real. I simply tried to make a realistic looking robot beneath the car parts. If you got a better "endoskeleton" then whip it out! Chip in and together we can all make the best TF movie in history!

I wasn't bashing what you created.

I was bashing the Alternators.

I like your design.

I know you weren't bashing, but I seem to be getting a good share of negative feedback about this from this and other forums as well. A few people like it, but everyone else is just saying it sucks. So I am simply saying to all these people who hate it, let's work together here. If yall can make a better transformer, let's get on the ball and start making them. Dreamworks isn't going to resurrect G1, so if it is ever going to happen it is up to us, right here and right now. Dreamworks sure as hell isn't going to let the fans make the movie, but I am giving you all the chance to, so are you going to step up to the plate or just say it sucks? Anyhow, I appreciate the support Venomous Prime, hopefully more people start to like it.[/quote]

I can help with story stuff, but I am no 3D modeler.

I personally have nothing wrong with the real movie design, in fact, I love them.

But I will help with the story part if you need any help

Sekse,
Don't let negative feedback get you down. When I first posted my rough ideas for my cartoon version of the War Within, a lot of people thought it sucked, it wouldn't work, it was a silly pipe dream, etc.

However, I continued on, and my most recent demos have changed a few people's minds (most recent demo at youtube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRO-dZJE ... er&search= --shameless plug-- although I've now doubled the amount of footage since then...).

Go forward with your plan. You'll hit some skeptism, to be sure, but once you have a bit more to "show" people, they'll come around.

If you're looking for voice tallent for your 'bots, when time comes I'd seriously check out http://www.tfcog.net The folks who post there have done quite a few TF dub projects and are quite experienced at lending voices to transformers...
Visit http://www.youtube.com/user/Pepsimus to see the latest episodes of The War Within animated, adapted from the comic of the same name. Episodes 1 & 2 complete!

Ok, after arguing with everyone on another forum, let's see how many people prefer it the old way. Who prefers this over my new design? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSvV1yAeskg or perhaps this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8ZJU2qiM3I These are 2 earlier renderings of Sideswipe, see if you like either of them more.

Please don't be offended I just post on here my point of view. That is what you wanted correct? The combined views of transfans everywhere. We all have our likes and dislikes. Lots of people hate Beast Machines, I for one love it it filled with action, drama, comedy, morality, and spirituality. I personally just think the Robot mode looks a little weak (as in scrawny). But it's your art do what you see fit. I'll still watch it when your done! :D

Sorry, Cycrolus, not meaning to sound like I am getting pissed. Guys on the transformers movie forum are really being a bunch of tards and it is gettin on my nerves. None of them have any creative input, just telling me it sucks and it is a waste of time. I thought after everyone's copmlaints about the robot mode I would post my old G1 renders to see if everone likes them better. Thing is the lanky robot would save alot of modelling time since the one robot can be adapted to all transformers, cutting my modelling time dramatically. With just me doing this alone, time is a valuable thing. If I had a bunch of modellers helping I could really go all out. As for Michael Smith, I love his work too, and if anybody knows how to get in touch with the guy I would love to work with him on this project.

Wow... a design that sucks more than Bay's.

Its great to see a fan based movie, but come on thats uglier than... well a lot of things.

You can't sit there and worry about "modeling time" and want people to like and be involved. You've got two choices when it comes to public opinion:

Do what makes people happy(respect the fan base)

Forget what people like/what and give them what you want to.

Remember the last one has bad side effects. I'm sure you put some work into that, I used to do 3D modeling, 8 years ago, and I do recall how hard at times it can be. I'm sorry, but, if you want people to like your work you have to put more time into something. People keep telling you that 'thing'(and it is a thing) is ugly because it truly is.

I think you're definitely on the right track there, and the animation's pretty good too. I'm looking forward to seeing what other characters are coming up.

What program are you using to produce the models? I've done 3D work myself, but I use an old copy of AutoCAD, and animation's somewhat out of its field. It is possible to do pretty realistic models, though.

As for the movie itself, I think it'd be an idea to do a short or two first, if only because a full-length movie is such an enormous undertaking - it'd require a dedicated team of people, and many months (at least) of work, and I know it's really hard to keep people interested for that long, especially since you could guarantee that you wouldn't be allowed to make money out of it. A ten-minute (for example) short would be easier to achieve, and would be a good stepping stone toward getting more people involved for the long haul on a larger project.
Just a thought there.

Thanx for the support, Ramrider. As for 3d modelling, in terms of help I am not looking for someone to do everything. I would like to get a group of people to make models, a group of people to animate and rig, and etc. so that everyone has such a small and simple part that they don't lose interest as fast. Also, I plan to release various clips from the film as they become available to keep interest. As for your modelling skills, if you can make some transformers in autocad that look good, send a sample my way and if you can do a good job I will give you a few to do. I can import some autocad files to 3DS Max.

Well first off...

Your attitude needs adjusting.

2nd

Thats better, could still use some tweaking. Maybe if you thought before you typed I would have been able to send a few people that have models already your way, but now... I'm not inclined to do so.

My comments where constructive and honest. Your reply was... juvenile at best.

I say once again, suck my ballz, kalon. I am not here to sit here and listen to some ignorant punk. Your "critique" was rude and insulting, nothing more. I appreciated your inputs, but the slanders were what made your comment nothing more than a skidmark upon this thread. In closing, don't bash someone if you can't handle it back.

Problem is many of us like the new film which is hell bent on making millions. I will refuse to watch this as it looks like just another whining "GEEWUN" forum arguement, except its gonna be alot less tolerable and crappy looking by the looks of it...

If you had approached and advertised this project as more than just an "**** you" to micheal bay and the new TF movie i might have a little more tolerance for this project as its a novel idea. But you should have kept it purely fan based, and not make it with the pure intentions to give us a revamped G1 movie that we didnt get (and in many cases didnt want) from the new movie.

Just get over it already! G1 is 20 years ago, move on or stop whining. The G1 designs WOULDNT have worked in a realistic live action movie: FACT.

We have a new iteration of Transformers just like G2, Armada, cybertron and energon was and you are just going to have to live with it.

This project wont ever get finished, you will run out of money and motivation and all your efforts will go to waste so give up now while you still havnt shot any footage.

Trust me ive seen it happen millions of times already.

Great, just what this thread needs, another basher. Dude, I like the new movie, too, and this is not about whining for G1, it is about giving the fans what we all wanted to begin with. My goal is to make this look as real as DreamWorks's stuff but with G1 all the way. If you don't want to watch it, fine. Nobody asked you to. But I think alot of people reading this would love to see G1 brought to life on top of Spielberg's masterpiece.

Oh, so you LIKE the new movie? Then why did i get the sense from your site that this is intended as nothing more but a big **** you to the new movie and its designs?

So you like the new movie? I take back what i said then, but i suggest you change the way you advertise this project to keep people from thinking the way i did when they read about this project.

You see people fail to realize that there is a big fanbase for the new movie and people will defend it just like G1 die hard fans will defend G1. So you have to tread carefully these days.

I would offer my talents as an artist and aspiring film maker for concept art and choreographing the action sequences but im afraid i will let you down as i suffer from many mental illnesses that stop me from doing things so i wouldnt be very reliable.

lol, okie dokie Sonray. If you would have read the FAQ on the site it says I think Spielberg is doing a great job and that he deserves more credit. I think the main reason he doesn't get enough respect is because all the transformers fanbase wanted G1 brought back and instead got something new. So I think if someone made a good G1 movie the fanbase would back off and enjoy the movie for what it is rather than be mad that it isn't G1.
