I bet you could russel up some roms and emulators pretty quick on the ole web.

If your not to sure how that works or not to sure which sites are safe, I could do a little sniffing around some old haunts and see what I can find and send you links and how to's.

I got a little into the emu scene a few years back.

I'd be down for that. :D

This is making me think harder about something I thought about a while back, and you're just the guy to ask. I have no plans to purchase a console anytime soon, and if I do It would probably be a Wii U. Do you think it would be worth it to play WFC and/or FoC on the PC? And if so I would probably want a usb controller, ya?

Well Cram may be better at filling ya in on the WiiU, but from an educated guess standpoint, I would say that would be a good console for anyone with younguns.

Nintendo tends to really focus on excellent couch co-op games and the Wii/WiiU has a solid library of those. I say the Wii/WiiU, because I'm pretty sure the WiiU is backwards compatible. With that said, WFC is on the Wii, but not FoC. WFC single player can be played co-op, at least on the consoles. Every level in WFC can be played with a choice of 3 different bots. FoC levels are tighter and designed for a single bot, so no choice of playable character.

As far as worth it on PC? Those are older games so you won't really need to powerful of a PC to run them, but those games seems to always be expensive. FoC is $50 for download via Amazon and Steam. I liked FoC better than WFC, but I've heard that some prefer WFC. They are both pretty straight forward 3rd person shooters, but the stories are neat and enjoyable. One of the cooler things is how the game mixes alt/bot mode into combat and travel.

Fall of Cybertron Reviews
http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/trans ... -cybertron

I'd recommend both if you can get a good deal on them. I just finished a second playthrough of FoC and really enjoyed it. I played it 3 years ago, pretty naive of any TF lore. It was really cool to play it again after being much more entrenched in the TF universe. I'm also currently playing through the Prime game on 3DS. It's basically the same game, just smaller and with Prime wallpaper.

USB controller? I'm a die hard console player, so for me its controller or nothing. About the only type of game I can play with a keyboard and mouse is a FPS. These games are 3rd person shooters with light platforming sections. A KB/mouse would be serviceable, but I always recommend a controller. Unfortunately, controllers run from cheap and crappy to expensive and nice. I'm not a PC gamer, so I will just lob out getting an xbox360 controller that is PC compatible. Probably going run ya around $30 on amazon.

Amazon has WFC for $30 and FoC download for $50.

Cool! Thanks for the big answer.
 I don't need selling on the Wii U. I am already sold with 5 simple letters. Z-E-L-D-A. :D
The kids are a little young, but as a Dad who likes to play, I have a long term plan.

I did go looking too. I found WFC on Gamestop for $19.99. But ya, FOC is pricey.
It's funny, my pal built this box, and we built it for 3D modeling. My graphics card is a monster, and it's commonly used for super gaming. The games will look plenty good, for sure.

Maybe I'll try WFC. I actually watched FOC on youtube a while back. It does look cool and fun! But now I know the whole thing. :(

I'll look into controllers, I only ever played WoW with a keyboard, and it made sense, but wasn't all that fun to do. If I'm gonna play a shooter, I should stick to whats comfortable.

Word! That's the single reason I picked up a 3DS. I've been enjoying it since, but that was the tipping point.

Once the new Zelda hits the WiiU, I'll get a bad case of the wants. Hopefully there will be a price drop or good deal by the time that happens. I really wanna get my hands on the Wind Waker remake as well, then there is all the SNES games on the VC I want to play again and a pile of other Nintendo games I'd like to add to my ever increasing backlog.

The SNES was my golden age of gaming and I've been chasing that dragon ever since.

Wooooooooooo!!! Cobs gonna be gaming like Cary and me!

Also, Wii U is full of win, and emulators/PCs are the way to go. I have two wired controllers (both are the Xbox 360 Street Fighter IV fight pads) which work great for anything I need to do.

Wii U Wii U Wii U!!! :KREMZEEK: :KREMZEEK: :KREMZEEK: :KREMZEEK: :KREMZEEK: Also, 3DS 3DS 3DS!!!

I told my wife after cancelling my Xbox One Forza 6 Anniversary Edition pre-order: "we grew up with Mario, so will our baby girl!" 17 months old and wants to game. Crazy.

That 1st ed. Bee's bot mode is really nice looking. Have I heard he is a bear to transform though?

Bee and Smokes are both a bit of a bear, but on opposite ends of the stick. Bee is a bit fiddly to get into bot mode and Smokes packs in super tight in alt mode.

I'm not on the road but I've been working 13+ hour days. We've been on an accelerated schedule and opened three stores this week. I-)

I've been getting home, eat, game for about an hour, sleep, rinse, repeat.

I'll be glad when today is over; goin' to the hot air balloon festival with the famdamily this weekend.

This has nothing to do with anything, it's just a fun little diddy that's been stuck in my head for about a month now.

All I have to add to the video game discussion is that emulators = awesome! Haven't had one in a long time...but all my old nintendo games are on my Wii so I don't need to download them on the PC any longer...mostly Mario games :-D .

I don't game on my PC much as it's a laptop and it's never in the same spot for very long LOL.

As for the recent shots Cary :APPLAUSE: The ballin bot booth is workin' out well for ya :)

Tanks, I got a couple new aquisitions I need to turn my attention to now that the BOBF is coming to a close.

I do all my emu via official channels now too. I went through all the trouble to get all my roms on my tablet, find a good android emulator and get a bluetooth controller to work just to never use it. The journey was more fun than the destination.

I don't game on PC for a couple reasons. Too much trouble compared to consoles and I've just had bad luck with game crashes in the past and I will spend more time tweaking settings than playing a game. Not because I need to, just because I can. Same thing with my phone; always trying to squeeze just a little more performance out of it.

I still can't believe I have rooted my tablet yet; too lazy I guess. I keep putting off wiping my phone and loading the lastest lollipop rom on it.

Anyway, got a little off track there. This challenge was a lot of fun. I've completely redlarranged my CW shelf. You know repaints kinda disappear in this line when the dupe molds are combined.

I'll have to snap a pic of the new shelf layout now.

CW Photo Challenge Aftermath

Postby no-one » Tue Sep 29, 2015 5:43 pm

Well after last week's photo challenge was complete I had another challege. Putting all my toys up. If you've been living under a rock, you can catch up on last weeks challenge epicness here.

I'm pretty happy with the way my CW shelf ended up. I'm sure there are a couple outliers hiding on other random shelves. CW Cyclonus comes to mind, but he really belongs on my MTMTE shelf.

Anywhos, take a gander at this rowdy bunch.

Postby no-one » Thu Oct 01, 2015 9:41 pm

Well I got this guy for some reason
Image
Super pleased with him. He is the darker white/lighter visor variant. That light piping is just for you Cobz!

Image
I'm really loving this little guy. Plastic is nice and he looks cool to boot. Definitely putting more iGear on the wants list. Manatee is his name, looking all GI Joey is his game. He doesn't know it yet, but he is about to get some GI Joey rivalry.

Image
Picked up Glypher here on clearance with the intent on turning her into Bumblebee with a slap of paint. I'm thinking I will leave her just as she is.

Image
Oh, this lil guy. I think I'm in love. :x They remind me of penny racers or those little G1 bots like Bee.

Image
I can see this line becoming a very dangerous obsession.

And lastly, but certainly not leastly. I picked up a new toy for my favorite road dog.

Cary the new additions are looking awesome, minibot love is a good thing :)

I have the iGear sharks which I love, I was tempted to get there other minibots as well good to know Manatee is a good figure.

I was also thinking of picking up the those bug minibots as well since they are on clearance everywhere they look like fun and may would be a good lil desk army for my office :-?

Not to Shia away from this topic but that video of LaBeouf is money...I saw bits of that when he was a guest on the Ellen show...one of those days I was home sick watching day time t.v. That stuff HIlarious!

Sia on the other hand is interesting gave a few of her songs a listen and I will likely buy a few...
