I'm not a film person either, but it's still worth a watch. If you liked The Matrix, then you're going to love Equilibrium. It's like Matrix only without all the special effects computer driven gimmicks. Also, Christian Bale is in it.

ummm... hate to be the bearer of bad news but the special effects and computer gimmicks we're the only good parts of the matrix. thats why it made millions and had 2 sequals and equilibrium didnt

No, Equilibrium suffered from poor distribution and promotion. That's why it did'nt do well. Matrix has lost popularity because the gimmicks they used are just kinda boring now and the sequels were no where near as good as the first. The first Matrix film was good, but everything else just felt as though it was milking the franchise. I've yet to meet someone I could'nt convert to being an Equilibrium fan. Give it a chance and you'll see why it's awesome.

I hated the Matrix, but Equilibrium was FANTASTIC. Great story, awesome action scenes, and the acting was superb.
