Most people will look forward to new stuff, I do too. Present me anything new and I will probably consider owning it.
But when a toy is released a while ago, my interest fades in favor of new stuff. For example; I was pretty psyched about getting a DOTM Shockwave, but I never did actually buy it for whatever reason... Now I'm less than interested.
There's a ton of examples of toys that made me pee myself and never gotten around to buy... How 'bout you? Sound familiar?

Such as the ark set. I really wanted it before it was released, then it hit the stores and I was all "meh" about it (partially do to the fact additional CV characters cost $8 a pop). I eventually bought it early this month, but only because the $5 coupons were out and I got the ark for $20 and additional figures for $3.60 ea. But I wasn't as enthusiastic as I once had been. Had those coupons not come out I would have never picked it (or the little guys for it) up.

Was really into United, but just never really had the chance to purchase any of them. I saw the entire line at the Victoria Toy Fair and probably could've swooped in and got all of them then, but I only managed with Blurr.. and although the paint scheme blows Gen Blurr out of the water, it's sort of meh, because I've owned the mold as Drift and Blurr prior. Still need to pick up Jazz and Goldbug though.
And Defender. Just haven't pushed myself to get it.
I think a lot of these cases are because of hype. Toys get hyped up by others, so you should really question yourself as to whether or not the figure's going to be good for you and your collection.
For example, Alternators are wicked toys, but does it really belong anywhere along my shelves that are dominated by Blurrs, mini-cons, blocky Armada toys and Animated figures. Likely not.

Truthfully, Armada is the only series I still get pumped for. I know it received sooo much hate back then, but I just love bricks and the minicons still hang proudly on my Galvatron. It actually one of the few cases in which not having gotten a toy bites me. I still NEED (not want) powerlinx Hotshot.
