Been playing since launch. Currently lvl 38 and will hit 39 before years end. It really helps if you have a local community with a discord channel. Prior to scanners getting knocked out, we used to do all sorts of caravan raids once those came out. Usually the people I would see in gyms were people in my discord community. But lately it has been a lot of names I have not seen before. The new friend/trading system, along with research quests, mythical research quests, community days, and raids have brought back a lot of people. Can't wait to see what PvP does.

Thus far, Kangaskhan is the only one I need to complete the Kanto pokedex. I still need Smeargle, Heracross, and Celebi (which is half way there) for jhoto. Hoenn still needs Tropius, Torkal, Chimecho, Relicanth and anything else unreleased.

And for the record, when you complete a pokedex, nothing happens. Not even a star by the dex number.

As for Mewtwo, I've caught so many of him already since I am batting 1000 with every EX raid I have done since his catch rate is higher than most legendaries. Got a 98% iv one a couple of months ago with the higher attack stat. The only ones I seek are a shiny or a "hundo" (100% iv). Sadly, most non-event shinnies in the game hate me and stay away.

@Roadbuster: Very nice! I've been playing since launch week, although getting in to the game at the time with a PTC account was difficult (which is what I still use). I have a few co-workers that play so we go walk around town at lunch and do raids if they interest us during the day. I only GO Plus things on the weekend and after work, and I haven't participated in any of the "Legendary Raid Days" myself. Just hit 39 last week, I'm guessing I'll be 40 sometime next year. I make sure I get a Pokestop/catch/task complete per day, but other than that I've been pretty casual. Luckily, I've been in cities during some of the bigger XP events so GO Plus'ing was definitely worth it.

Try a Go-tcha. They can be a little more finicky to use but they actually will auto catch provided you have the pokeballs. You can also set it to spin Pokestops automatically though that function is hit or miss.

I don't think you can change the ball it uses. It only recognizes Regular Poke Balls. Nobody in my community has figured out how to get it to use Great or Ultra Balls.

Well, yesterday evening while I was having dinner with the family, I finally managed to hatch a Kangaskhan, completing my Kanto pokedex. Now, I just need to get an EX-Raid pass for Deoxys.
