Despite being a no-show for Transformers: ROTF it appears Barricade may be getting another Deluxe release for Transformer: DOTM. ACToy.net user, b-o-t, has posted images of Barricade in his police cruiser mode outfitted with a giant Mech Tech claw. You may recall the previously reported DOTM product listing which list a Deluxe class Barricade. It's hard to tell, due to the poor lighting, if this is an entirely new mold, or a remolding of the original Barricade. There some noticeable differences. There is no brush guard on the front bumper and there appears to be additional molding on the hood. Could this coupled with the previously reported Legends class repaint be an indication that Barricade may be returning for Transformers: DOTM?

its gotta be a diffferent mold... look at the hood, no line down the middle and v-shaped bits...look at the rear, no lines along the sides where the arms split off, just one down the middle.

I also think this is a new mold. If he looks good in robot mode he's on my list. It would be nice to give my premium Barricade a "twin," especially since this one has a real weapon. #-o

WTF is on his roof?!?! Its like the disembodied arm of the boogeyman or something. These mech-tech weapons are killing these figures worse than the phoned in designs.

The Mechtech stuff is pure garbage... NONE of it looks goos on the characters in either robot or vehicle modes. Why does Hasbro always feel like they need a gimmick to add to their toys? At least the Mech Alive stuff was basically innocuous and ignorable.

I was going to pose the exact same question in the exact same way regarding Barricades roof. And yes, these weapons ARE killing this line along with a few other piss-poor design choices.

I have 2 versions of Barricade for general play/display purposes and a MOSC Premium Barricade so I have no need (or even the slightest desire) to pick up this one. All I can do is bow my head and offer my condolences over the brutal defilement of a once decent mold. :-(

just from looking at the pictures its a bit hard to tell if its 100% new or just a hell of alot of remolding. i really hope this means hes back, he was the only decent looking bot in the movies and a decepticon cop car is awesome.

Y U NO HAVE NORMAL WEAPON?!

....seriously, what is this crap? If it's a build-a-(insert item here) kinda deal, I'm going to be incredibly angry. Because I refuse to buy figures I don't give a rat crap about to get an ugly accessory that ends up looking badass in combined mode. (Though, I have my doubts on a cool looking combo.)

It reeks of PCC, really. Spring loaded gimmicks, combination of the mix and match variety.

Didn't they get the memo? PCC ain't sellin'. Don't sully good figures by including this crap with it.

My only concern is that if this is a new mold, it may not be in the same scale as the original Barricade. I'd like to have two similar but slightly different Barricades to display as partners, but that won't work if one is half an inch shorter in car mode.

No seriously, that HAS to be an arm. These ugly lumps of plastic have to combine somehow and not just be ugly lumps of plastic that sit on top of an alt mode and transform into even uglier lumps of plastic.

Ya know, that's a really good way to look at this Mech Tech stuff. A lot of time the built in gimmick really hinders the figure, but in this case you can just throw the extra stuff in a box and still have a good figure.

Is Bionicle still considered such powerful competition for TF that Barricade felt the need to tear Onua's arm off? That might have made sense 9 years ago, but I personally would've stolen Onua Nuva's chainsaw-roller-blades: I could seriously see Bay giving that feature to a Decepticon.

but yeah if these all combine into a robot i will be like wtf. the gaping holes they leave on figures are bad enough. I never had a problem with like the mech-alive and automorph stuff. most of it was completely unobtrusive and fit within the designs.

I am so pleased Barricade is getting a new figure.

This is absolutely excellent.

Barricade is one of the few things to come from
the Movie-verse that is actually worth while.

MechTech is retarded again. Yup. It wouldn't be so bad if they weren't MASSIVELY HUGE COMPARED TO THE FIGURES. Especially in vehicle mode.

That aside, if this turns out to be a new and not crappy due to a lame arm gimmick mold of Barricade, I'm definately getting it and just ditching the retarded weapon.

Despite the new mold/tooling/paint job/toys, I'm not sure if Barry will be in the movie. For one thing, his Legends toy's paint scheme doesn't match this one's. Could be wrong (fingers crossed I am :lol:

That would be kinda cool, having Barricade come back to the big screen in a very evil matter. I'm hoping he'll have more to say other than "ARE YOU USERNAME LADIESMAN217?!?! WHERE IS THE EBAY ITEM 22153?!?!? WHERE ARE THE GLASSES?!?!?!?!". Charming. :lol:
