Hey guys, I am looking to add a few Voyager and larger figures to my collection. I'm mainly interested in what's at retail now. I'm probably looking more for Universe than Animated but welcome opinions on both.

Onslaught is a must buy from Universe (ultra class); from animated, I recommend Leader Megatron (got it yesterday, it rocks.), maybe leader Magnus. Also if you order from the net, Encore Skylynx and Metroplex can be good choices.

TRU exclusive Wingblade is a good Ultra to pick up as well as Onslaught. i went ahead and got Powerglide and Silverbolt and like them a lot, though i'm sure a bunch of people will disagree with Powerglide.

If you don't mind repaints, both Dropshot and Blades are excellent Vooyager class figures. Blades has a very nice red, white and black color scheme whose vehicle mode is almost a perfect match for a coast guard rescue chopper, while Dropshot remind me considerably of an updated, upgraded GoBot Blaster.

Imo, Onslaught can't be missed... He's one of my very favorite figs. from the Universe Classics.

From what I've seen, Animated Ultra Magnus looks like a win, although I may hold out and buy the RoadBuster version since I have the City Commander set.

I think everything that's out right now is pretty bad. If I were tied for cash, I wouldn't touch any of the Universe Ultras or Voyagers. They're all very average. Current deluxes knock them out of the water.

I see a lot of Movie Voyager Primes around my area. That's an excellent mold if you don't already have it. If you are open to Animated stuff, I think voyager Bulkhead is an all round class act.

i agree with that, and there are certainly plenty of voyager primes to be found, and that's a good one to pick up (the leader prime is cool too). what bumblethumper says about the deluxe figs currently out is true. you can't miss out on sideswipe, sunstreaker, prowl, silverstreak etc. those are some of my favorites that i've recently aquired.

I have to say that I have been suprisingly impressed with Voyager Animated Prime although he does have his major flaws. I was really reluctant about getting him because it just looked really small for a Voyager when packaged in truck mode, but the Bot mode is really nice. Good size, and good articulation. Too bad he is going into battle with a flag looking thing in one hand and a water pistol in the other.

Have to agree that the Deluxes have blown prettymuch everything out of the water recently. All the larger figures seem to have flaws or are overly simple (don't know why I care much about this since they seem to get transformed once and sit on a shelf for me).

I absolutely love Onslaught. All of the Animated Leader Class figures are fantastic, as is Voyager Prime.

Beat me to it! Onslaught is my favorite in the Universe line thus far (even over all the deluxes, and that is saying a lot...the deluxes are REEAAALLLY good!)...and Animated Leader Megatron is just a must-have in my opinion...Just a great figure for a lot of reasons!

The Japanese version of Powerglide is balls. You need him.

Onslaught is a fine choice as well.

Um, saying a figure is balls would mean that it's bad, not that you need it. :?

Hasbro Powerglide is fantastic, btw. I'd also pick up Blades and Overload (when he's released). Yeah, they're Cybertron repaints, but they're good ones.

Let's assume that, like most people, that figure can be expressed as "none." Nada. Zip. The big goose egg. Not a sausage. Not one moment of that has intruded on my brain space. Zippo.
