I too have a gripe about TF's scale.

I got back into collecting with the movie figures, which I think are pretty cool although a bit fragile at times. But I narrowed it down to only the original characters shown in the movie.

While I was buying the movie figures, I searched for every Masterpiece figure released and I got MP-01, MP-05, MP-06 and Wally's MP Starscream. Couldn't bother buying MP-04 (overpriced), MP-02 (shameless repaint) and MP-03 (bad colour scheme). I got the Justitoys trailer to go with MP-01. I also got 20th Ann Prime to go in robot mode while MP-01 goes in truck mode. There can't be use to a non-transformable trailer but to be displayed with OP in truck mode.

MPs are my prized possessions and I intend to collect every new mold there is, exception opened to eventual Ironhide and Ratchet repaints and the obvious Thundercracker.

I also bought both THS figures which I think are absolutely fantastic and I look forward to more figures from this line.

But what I really want is to focus on my MP collection with MP like figures accompanying Optimus Prime and Megatron.

That's why I'm buying a few Alternators (only a few figures to make the 'bots stronger enough to 'face' the 'cons), such as Hound and Jazz (with Reprolabels).

I also added to my MP collection the Toys 'R' Us exclusive Soundwave Reissue which looks absolutely amazing side by side with Megatron, even if a bit tiny. Ravage and Laserbeak looks gorgeous on Megs hands as you can see in these pictures:

Now what I'd love to see is an Alternator or Masterpiece figure representing Bumblebee. He is really missing from the realm of MPs.

Speaking of having a problem with TFs scale the new classics Powerglide disgusts me as far as scale goes. I mean if they're going to do it based on what there alt. modes are is one thing but powerglide was always a minibot not a giagantic plane. If that's the case why is Octane i mean TANKOR  (please!) only deluxe class. Well i guess they can't get everything right.

Hey Daniel, if you want a Bumblebee figure to go with MP Prime and the Alts, you should definitely give a look to Classics Bumblebee. He's probably the best Bumblebee figure ever made and he's in scale with the other Autobots.

Hey buddy,

I think he's cute, but way too tiny as well.

The alt mode of Bumblebee should be at least 1/24 in scale, like the Alts, and Classics BBBee is definitely a 1/30 or smaller. He looks great in robot mode, but just ridiculous if displayed in his alt. mode besides the Alternators.

Thanks for the tip anyway. I'll keep searching.

I can't figure out why scale is so important to some people when it comes to transformers. Since we will never have perfect scale figures no matter how much we as collectors wish. I listened to this debate for years and years whenever a new line comes out people always complain about the scale of figures compared to the animated counter parts. I guess I will never get what is so important about scale my theory is if you like a figure you should get no matter what, If you don't like a figure then don't get it.

It all depends on how you collect. FOr instance, for me a big part of collecting is buying things I'm going to open. After I open them, I like to display a bunch of figures together. The more in scale the figures are, the better the display looks.

Right now I have 2 main sets of figures, ones in about 6 inch scale like Classics/Cybetron/Titanium and the other which is in Minibot/Legends/Spychanger scale.

But when I'm buying things and keeping them MOC or MIB then it's a different story.

While scale bugs me sometimes, it's generally in terms of bot mode. While I'm definitely looking forward to Universe Powerglide, the fact that he's an ULTRA class figure bugs the crap out of me. So, now when I display him with the rest of the classics, he's going to tower over Optimus and Skyfire. Meanwhile, Universe Galvatron is going to be smaller than Classics Megatron. Arrrgh! WTF!?! It's that kind of stuff that drives me crazy.

The other thing that irritates me about Transformers is that there are no updated versions of mainstay characters from G1. No Hound, no Jazz, no Blaster, no Brawn, no Cyclonus. I hope that Universe addresses some of these holes (a mainline Ratchet and Ironhide please, please, please!) but I can't help but feel that my collection is incomplete.

I don't have this problem with GI Joe...the other line that I collect.

The upside of this problem is that it has gotten me into kitbashing...

im strictly into collecting Cybetron figures which makes it a lot easier to get them for a better price because i think the focus is still on the movie line and then the upcoming Animated figures. its prob the only time ive ever collected something that is easy to get brand new off ebay or even in stores still.

as far as gi joe is concerned, i started buying the 25th figures but i ended up stopping so i could finish my line of ARAH but i think im selling that soon anyways. so who knows, i might pick up the 25th line again, especially with those two versions of the HISS they will have coming out soon...
