Detolf lighting

Postby Fistful of Energon » Mon Feb 20, 2012 12:59 pm

So I finally picked up a couple of Detolfs from Ikea, put them together, filled them and now im ready to light them!

Internet searching produces MANY results and so far there are several I have narrowed it down to. But I would like to hear from you guys on what you use.

I would prefer some that dont give off alot of heat and hopefully I can turn on with a remote switch but that isnt real important. More or less, something durable and will last awhile.

Thanks in advance to any help

Ikea's 'Dioder' LEDs are my personal favorite.

I found a couple of LED sticks from a shop next to IKEA, but cannot remember their names.

They are battery powered and simply stick to the surfaces, quite tightly too!

(from Wikipedia - Cool light: In contrast to most light sources, LEDs radiate very little heat in the form of IR that can cause damage to sensitive objects or fabrics. Wasted energy is dispersed as heat through the base of the LED.)

the reason I asked about the heat is because I read a review on the Ikea leds and it was mentioned that they emitted alot of heat. That is why i have been looking for an alternative otherwise they seem to be what I am looking for.
