Possibly the best Trasnformers series ever, there worth the price by far. The Subaru and Mazda molds are pretty good, but defiently get one of the Jeeps.

You can view all of them here.

I'm partial to the Mustangs myself. It's weird to think of Grimlock as anything other than a Dinobot but Wheeljack works really well. Jazz, or Meister as he is primarily refered to in the Alternators/Binaltech line, looks really good in Bot mode especially after getting the reprolabels. My favorite by far has to be Mirage as the Ford GT but he is pretty tough to find as is the Kiss Players Hot Rod as a Ford GT.

I'd definetely check out http://reprolabels.com/Binaltech/ if you plan on displaying them out of package. It makes the figures look a little more like their original G1 counterparts. Once the labels are applied for Jazz it almost makes me forget that he is a Mazda instead of a Porsche, and he looks even better in Bot mode.

The only Alts i have are Hound and Prime, I only got Hound cause he was cheap, but I must say he has become one of my faves, and apart from Prime's funky legs he is also one of my top faves.

If you like something different I would suggest the new(ish) Alt Ravage, very different and cool for an Alt.

I still can't look past Smokescreen.

Maybe it's because he was the first, but I consider him the best damn looking of the Alternators.

Shockblast is the best IMO. Similar to the Subaru mold, but with a few tweaks that makes his transformation just that extra little bit better. I would also highly recammend (sp?) the GT40. In fact, I can't decide which I like better between those 2. I'm not as crazy about the Jeep as the others, but if you want a third one, I would suggest it. Definatly money well spent. So to answer your question, yes. They are worth getting.

Alternators is what ended my 15yr Transformers fast.I just couldn't resist seeing my favorite Rally car and favorite toy of the past combined. I must have walked by Smokescreen 20x's before I mustered up the courage to buy a toy. I then found 20th Anniversary Prime for $50 a few weeks later and that was the end of it. The Transformers had once again consumed me. My wife hates going to Walmart with me now.

Nice haul. Well done on getting Shockblast for £10. I put those funny triangle stripes from Binal Broadblast on Swindle's shoulders so they look like Sargent stripes. They make a small, but significant improvement. But I guess you would need Broadblast for that.

I 2nd that, especially the BT GT version, and a close runner up is Streak.

Ah but you must remember the Transformers are alien in nature so if they have weird vehicle modes well that is to fit with them been from Cybertron and not earth the Transformers whom came to earth had to modify themselves to earth modes so that they would blend in.

Anyway to get back to the origional query the Alternators are an awesome line their transformation are fairly time consuming and complex I wouldn't suggest playing with them but as for display purpose and awesome robots modes they are simply some of the best I personally own 9 Autobot alternators Sunstreaker, Sideswipe,Richochet, Jazz{Meister}Hound,Grimlock,Skids,Tracks and Silverstreak.

Unfortunately I have been unable to collect any of the Decepticon ones. I highly recommend them.

Where do you shop?!?! I can't find any of the first released figures anywhere! I simp[ly must have Shockwave (Yeah, I call him that. It's his true name) & Wheeljack. He'lll really be Wheeljack once he has the Reprolabels on him. I love the Jazz mold (I don't really like the name 'Meister') & the others that followed it, like Richochet. I like Mirage & Sunstreaker, they are awesome. Skids was my first Alternator, & I still love him. I didn't get the first release of Ravage, I'm waiting for the 'real' Ravage to come out, as well as Rumble, who should be rightfully re-colored into Frenzy. I also have Rollabr, who I'm waiting to transform into Tantrum w/Reprolabels as well. Same w/Richochet into Divebomb. I wanna get Prime & Nemesis Prime. I like the Kiss Players Rodimus, I'd like to get him. Grimlock, I'd like to see him as a T-Rex, but that probably won't happen since Ravage & Rumble are the last of the series (Which I hope isn't true).

actualy, the wierd alt mods would have fit better in the g1 toon continuity, because teletran 1 just used local vehicles as templates to rebuild the inactive transformers.

however the real reason they are weird is 2 fold, 1 to hopefully grab kids attention, and 2, to not have to worry about licensing and royaltees so much. remember when R.I.D. came out? and hasbro had to add the viper logo to sideburn, who in japan, didnt have one?

as for the alternators and bt.

classics are what ive been wishing for ever since lazer rod optimus prime came out in generation 2 with his new fangled articulation, and stuff.

But alternators/bt, at thier core, are exactly what transformers are supposed to be. and done so nearly flawlessy its incredible. character proportion wise, the alts stand up hight wise to mp prime and starscream were they are supposed to too. thats what ide call Epic Win.

I have them all and like them all. Except for one. The Optimus Prime bothers me. He isn't nearly as tight as the rest of my collection and likes to fall over. I'd say Nemesis Prime too but I never did open him.

Get all the Alternators you can get your hands on! Best Damn Line Period. In the beginning all I bought were Binaltechs and the Alts are the same thing only better balancing and the paint won't chip. The only one I've gotten from Japan in recent years is Hot Rod from KISS, totally worth it. The only once to avoid are (IMO) Grimlock, Rumble, 1st Ravage. Not knocking them too bad but Grim didn't translate well, Rumble has no freckin' hands, and the second Ravage is way cooler. The Roadbot Land Cruiser from Happy Well makes a better Grimlock. It's a great series that I pray comes back soon as the Movie fades away. Only real complaint is that there aren't enough Decepticons. :CON: 4-EVER!

I do own silverstreak, windcharger, swindle and shockblast. I do like the molds. The articulation and engineering behind them is amazing.
