Encore Prime
Encore Prime-
The Encore Optimus Prime is great and all, but it doesn't seem 'authentic' since all the other figures have sticker symbols.
Did any G1 figs have painted symbols?

Damn. So it's not that authentic, is it?
I don't know. I could get a normal one, but I had a bad experience with TRU Prime. I couldn't get his insignia stickers to stay on because of those bumps. Is this only a prob with me? Was I doing something wrong?

The TRU reissues stickers were dont with a different kind of glue then the G1 from 1984.
They said that the kind of glue they used with the TRU reissues was safer then the glue used on the stickers back in 84.
The stickers in 84 applyed very quickly and only came off if you removed them.
The Takara reissues use better glue then the Hasbro reissue's for the most part.

It's the closest you're gonna get to a true Generation 1 Optimus Prime, and not the bastardized TRU reissue
, without paying a massive amount of money.

Dude, encore prime is the first ever 100% complete prime i ever got and I was lucky that my first complete prime wasn't castrated (I have an original G1 prime but its not complete, its missing fuel pipe, radar dish etc).
through my search for authenticity I purchased the encore soundwave even though i had the tru reissue i just thought that the single chested version was more authentic. I guess that justified a second purchase of a mold.
I don't think you have to worry about the painted on symbol as not being 100% authentic because you should just be happy you have a G1 reissue prime (the most iconic G1 figure) as it is. I've seen people pay silly money for G1 reissues (the TFC 00) sold in a toyfair for £150 in england so thats like USD300. my encore prime cost £20 ($40) so I'm happy with it. you should be too

It's made by Takara and is almost 100% identical with the exception of the few improvements in paint apps. Yes, I'd say its as authentic as anything can be without hopping in a time machine.

$180 at mine.

Are you serious, it's not even $60 on eBay? I'm seriously considering canceling my preorder with Ages Three and Up, just so I'll know I'm actually getting one...

The TRU release was actually really good.
Sure, the smokestacks are short, but they can be replaced and not only that, they don't look bad at all.
The Roller Launcher isn't functional, but a small spring can fix that too.
The trailer has long missles, but they look better than the originals, no lie.
Other than those things, the TRU release is actually one of the better constructed Prime versions. It also has a slightly deeper red paint to it which is closer to the original release.
All I can say is that the TRU reissue I had was made very well and had no manufacturing problems.
The first Encore Prime I got had bad decals, warped shoulder pieces, warped head rest, and warped blue insides.

Yeah, but $30 shipping? No thanks!
Actually, I preordered from Ages Three and Up for the regular price (about $60 Canadian), but they STILL haven't gotten them in stock, and at this point are unsure how many they're even going to get.

You think the 150.00 is bad for the Encore, there is a dum8 **** around here who is selling ko's for that
scalpers suck! I will be getting my encore today I can compare it against the 00 and the G1 so I will know how authentic it will be.

Sorry, but when I saw your new username all I could think of was that damn Shakira song...

Yeah, according to reports it's not 100% authentic, but close enough for me.

Tis less than $180, though.
And really? The TRU Prime was THAT screwed with? I never noticed that...then again, the roller spring thing was a bit annoying...
And I tried swithchin TRU Magnus' stacks with long ones after reading your post, and when I unscrewed the arm, the thing burst. Metal and plastic shot out everywhere, so now I can't find the parts to put it back together.
Douche.
And then on the TRU Prime I used to have, the ratchet joints on the hips smoothed down, and his legs would wing back and forth effortlessly.
So should I get TRU Prime or Encore Prime?
