Motto: "For all his bluster, it is the sad province of man that he cannot choose his triumph. He can only choose how he will stand when the call of destiny comes, hoping that he will have the courage to answer."
Weapon: Slingshot
ImpossibleToys began by making excellent versions of the Quintessons and Energon cubes, but if you remember the first version of the Quintesson was twice as much as it is now. Why the price dropped, I don't know, but it may have been that retail couldn't support the homage at that price point.

Anyway, the company should be super proud of itself for those additions to the transformer family. The five Quints and the upcoming Nightbird are worth the price and really fill in the gap for G1 collectors. But they are really trying to work with items that are already imagined.

But, I think DevastaTTor hit the nail on the head here when he said "would expect companies to do a little more research on what people actually WANT to buy, produce that product, and then price it APPROPRIATELY!" I doubt there was much of an appetite for these two figures here, Bonger aside. And not at this price point.

If Bonger, who really wants the set, is hesistant, then this was a bad choice to market. Because if you put out something that no one wants, then chances are people won't order from you again because they don't want to take the risk.

I'm not sure what else ImpossibleToys can add given that they stick to strict reproductions (as opposed to reimagines or add-ons like FanProjects). Perhaps the Beast Machines Drone that unicron.com was toying with years ago. Or the non-sentient cassette scout of Soundwave that blows up in G1. Or scaled versions of Melissa Fairbourn and Kylie. But again you have to mind the price point.

I coulda' sworn I posted in this topic earlier this morning, but it seems like either my post must not have gone through or got deleted somehow.

Anyway, I totally agree that these look Homies from a gumball machine... ... ...no, I'd say the quality on these might actually be worse.

I'm sorry, whether you're Hasbro or some dude in his garage, there's just no damn excuse for messing up the execution of a character design that's been SOLID for OVER 25 YEARS.
Head sculpts are lacking, although not as HIDEOUS as the "Sparkplug and Spike" figures of a few years ago.

Also weird is taking the Headmaster suit designs, not trying to do the movie ones instead. i mean hell, the movie is one of the brightest shining moments in the heart of anyone this product would be targeted at.

$10 each is a painful price. The 65 or 70 or whatever they're asking for these is just an attempt to quickly hose "true" (moronical) collectors who think they must own everything, like the world's been nuked and they're the caretakers to a Transformers toy museum.

Ives always wanted these but jeeeeeez man 70 bucks. What the? Who figures out these prices? Where do they get off charging 70 bucks for two 3 inch figures? This is why we have knockoffs and such. These prices are crazy, makes no sense. :o) :-x

Mr. Teriffic, love the blog...and the more I think about it, that more I agree. The price is crazy. I'm thinking it HAS to be an error. This is the same company that I got my Quint Judge from 2 years ago for 35 dollars which is many times larger and of higher quality. Thoughts?

Well at least their "transformations" can describe them perfectly...they bend over and blow.

They have three of those four things.
