I'm fully sold on this line based off Slag alone. I freaking love this figure. I even feel he stands well with MP Grimlock.
Also, yet unrelated why the forum name change? Color me curious.

Probably more accurate description as it appears that there might be some 3P, fully licensed products out there and coming. (I'm guessing that the Optimus Pens and Transforming Shoes from a while ago would qualify as 3P, but licensed products. I believe there's an IDW Oprimus non-transforming toy out there that qualifies as well.)
As far as Grimlock, I think some of you have talked me off of the ledge. I was very disappointed with the first shots, but some compelling arguments, and some better shots, have me re-considering... I really like the Classics Grimlock, so that could work for me, even if he is a bit small compared to other FP Dinos...

That makes sense. Thanks.
As for LER Dino's, I'm gonna get sludge, then make my final decision on if I'm all in. TW's snarl still speaks to me.....

Slice and Slash would seem appropriate.

I like Slice or Slash for the raptor. The hard head would seem to fit Slam or Smash. Paring them up? Slice and Slam? Or Slash and Smash?

Whilst I like the size of Grimlock, it does make Sludge look a little too small at the same time.

Oh hell no im so sick of companies making grimlock big for the sake of being big. Cmon FP hes not a combiner torso, shrink him down a bit. At least he scales with the others in robot mode which is how I might end up displaying the whole team now thanks to swoops legs and this oversized t-rex. Otherwise he looks great and FP is still the best option for classics in my opinion. I can only hope that shot was taken at an awkward angle making him look bigger than he really is, but I doubt it. Its like the revenge of Tsu!

As I stated earlier they scale fine in robot mode. Its the dinos that are screwed up. With that being said I fear this figure will be super complex to a point that it doesnt need to be in order to fold all that extra bulk up into a robot the same size as the others. A bigger grimlock is nust pointless and plain stupid.

In your opinion, it's pointless and stupid. Personally I like the Dinobots all being different sizes, although I would have preferred Sludge being the biggest. Grimlock should definitely be bigger than Snarl, Slag and Swoop though.
I wouldn't worry too much about Grimlock being hugely complicated though. There isn't all that much variation one can even put on the Grimlock transformation scheme TBH.

I'm alright with it. I think in dinosaur mode, Sludge is a little undersized rather than Grimlock being too big. I like Grimlock's size next to Slag.

Since one of those pictures a bit earlier is from the Ages 3 & Up display it got me wondering is there a specific place to discuss this :
http://www.fullmetalhero.com/content/ca ... more-9188/ story ?
Or do I need to go hunting for a thread on each toy shown specifically ?

I hope you're right. But since they found a way to make that giant T-Rex collapse into a robot virtually the same size as Columpio, there got too be a certain degree of complexity involved. You already know me an complexity aren't good friends. You haven't handled FP Motormaster or Toyworld Sideload. Complexity is not fun.

Mate, I can transform ROTF Rampage and ROTF Skids without instructions. I fear no transformation.
Git gud.
(Not that I care as I won't be buying FPs dinos due to the questionable quality control and how goddamn awful the dino modes of Snarl and Grimlock look.)

ROTF Rampage isn't that bad. When you can transform ROTF Mixmaster without using a video, then your the man !
Also to this day I have never transformed ROTF Jetfire. I took him out the package and put him on the shelf.

Re: FansProject Lost Exo Realm - Dinobots !!!
ROTF Mixmaster is a pain in the tailpipe - I suspect some of that isn't just down to the number of hinges but that he is one of those robot modes that you are never quite sure even the designer knew what it's supposed to look like as a final step like with Blazemaster.
I'd say Jetfire is as bad though getting the rubber belt stored in jet mode drives me nuts every time. though I have no issues with his combined mode and only a few with the robot mode.
You can learn this stuff if you play with something often enough though as is the case with ROTF Optimus or DOTM Leader Sentinel Prime they are crackable puzzles with practice - though Sentinel is pretty oblique to a casual Transformers fan. getting Leader Ironhide jammed back into vehicle mode can be a minor pain too, I didn't have any issues with HFTD Starscream or ROTF Rampage though.
I wouldn't blame Hasbro for thinking things had gone to far with ROTF & some DOTM toys but these days they have perhaps tilted the other way and got to dumb - it's not a lot of fun for example for a toy to hjave most of it's line Transform using such similar patterns such as with Combiner Wars Deluxes.
I think you can make some thing complex and fun like Smart Robin or complex an darn annoying like MP Megatron.
My personal preferred level is something like ROTF Brawn or DOTM Spacecase with modest complexity but with excellent articulation.
Transformations should be fun - and the end result pleasing, with no massive gaps and few compromises to play value over designer's pretensions.
Fansprojects toys sometimes make things poorly in terms of fit and method and ease of use like the Insecticons (to many needlessly tight parts) and the Stunticons (to much needless fiddling with little panels) But Smart Robin got pretty much everything right for me.

Yea, Spacecase (AKA Terradive) is an excellent mold. One of the best non-screen characters to come out of the movies, for sure. Figures like him and Classics Prime are about where I like my transformations to be - involved and gratifying but not overly complex. FP tends to get a bit extreme with the complexity, and I think Smart Robin is the exception that proves the rule (but then again, the FX line as a whole is kind of the odd duck amongst their other offerings).

the more i see pics of these guys the more i think they would look great with the prime aesthetic on my shelf. the stylization is just about the same IMO. I loved prime so that means i may need to get these.

LOVE the bot mode!

This is looking better, but it might be the angle of the photo. I'm still getting an oversized leg feel from him that makes me think of:
