It will be something if Cybertronians originally don't transform. They just live and fight as robots.

Upon reaching Earth, that's the time Teletraan-1 saw the necessity of a disguise, and gave them transformation capabilities.

Well, they do originally transform though, form a variety of reasons and purposes.
