Has reissue Soundwave's popularity got Hasbro's attention?
Would it be too far fetched to think that Hasbro might take reissues off of "hiatus", and try with some other characters after Soundwave? Or do you think after Soundwave Hasbro will be done?

Who knows. The reason they went on hiatus the first time had more to do with their contract with Toys "R" Us which made them exclusive to TRU. And of course TRU marked them up so the later waves did not sell well. Hasbro may do more but I would not expect them to do more the one every once in a while with long lag times in between releases.

it is far too early ot tell but I think we won't see any further G1 reissues from hasbro outside of any possible online store sales that are in limited quantity.

Ironhide and Ratchet seem likely to be reissued- both are movie characters and both have not yet been reissued in the United States.
The Ironhide mold is of lackluster quality, but that doesn't seem to be an impediment with the movie line.
Hmm...a Movie Reissue series would be interesting.
Series 1: to debut shortly after the film (in August, perhaps?)
Optimus Prime (large, more expensive figure)
Ironhide w/ Bumblebee
Starscream (repackaged Takara reissue with Megatron as pistol)
Jazz (can the Jazz mold take any more abuse?)
Series 2: perhaps around the holiday season
G2 Megatron (green version, large, more expensive figure)
Ratchet w/ Frenzy
Bonecrusher/Brawl/Barricade (three-pack in the fashion of TFC #16: Insecticons)
Since the G1 Megatron figure could never properly be released, the G2 tank is a solid figure at Prime's price point. If too many tanks are present in wave 2, one could switch the three-pack with Jazz.
Bumblebee and Frenzy will be packaged with the vans to add value to an otherwise unimpressive mold.

Back before they cancelled the line, I was very excited that Ironhide, Trailbreaker, Ramjet and Thrust were "next" according to TRU's computers... I think they would have sold better than some of their previous choices, maybe they will pick up where there left off??...then again, probably no chance in that...Basketball Jones wrote:Ironhide and Ratchet seem likely to be reissued- both are movie characters and both have not yet been reissued in the United States.

From what I understand Hasbro will not do anymore reissues after Soundwave. I agree that after the movie they could make a killing on reissues but I doubt that Hasbro has considered that.
There is also the issue of if other molds that have not been reissued still exist in good enough condition to make more reissues. Hell, at this point most of us are just concerned about Hasbro going forward with new molds/characters for the Classics & Alternators lines. I don't think we can include the reissues in that hope.
However, Takara/Tomy may pull a suprise out of there sleeve after the movie hits for all we know. Dinobots or remaining seekers (Thrust / Ramjet)?

Collection Count: Just enough G1 & Classics to make this look good!

First, it is obvious Hasbro has considered it. They are always looking for profit.
Ironhide, Ratchet, and Ramjet are intact, as Takara has reissued all of them. Even if Trailbreaker is not intact, he could most likely be salvaged using the Hoist mold.

I'd be happy if they re-tooled the Ratchet and Ironhide molds for reissue. Just give them decent robot heads, a la the Datsun mold, even if they are still hidden behind the windshield (it worked in "The War Within").
