Info needed on an older Galvatron model kit

Postby robofreak » Sat Nov 08, 2008 11:38 pm

Does anyone know much about the Galvatron model made by Arianhod?

I can't find any good pics of the parts or what it looks like next to other TF's. If anyone can help, that would be great!

You're in luck. Mine's still in pieces while I get the paint work sorted. Here's a component shot with Uni Galvatron for scale.

Image

The parts are cast from purple plastic. It's a hard rather than soft plastic but not as 'solid' feeling as the kind used for actual TF toys. The parts are:
a) Body
b) Back piece (a & b already glued in photo)
c) Head
d) Head crest (c & d already glued in photo)
e) Waist
f & g) Thighs
h & i) Lower legs
j & k) Feet
l & m) Thigh guards
n & o) Shoulders
p & q) Upper arms (with cannon mounts)
r) Cannon (p & r already glued in photo)
s & t) Lower arms
u & v) Hands

Plus 2 larger and 2 smaller ball joints and 2 double pivot joints cast in a harder grey plastic supplied as parts on sprues and a couple of lengths of metal dowling to make up the joints that only require rotation in a single plain.

You will need to drill into the various pieces in order to attatch the various joints and I've found that cleaning up the mould lines by gently backspraping them with a modelling knife provides a better finish when paint is applied. As such I'd only recomend this to somebody with some modelling experience as it's a bit pricey to be using as a test piece.

Size wise the finnished model should come out around deluxe size, and was supposedly designed with fitting in among the Classics deluxes in mind. It should also look good among Revoltech TFs.

I'm going for a metallic finish on mine starting with a bright silver and using clear colour glazes for the purples, blacks (and grays) and reds.

A man came home form work late!

Postby Yangkee401 » Mon Nov 10, 2008 6:39 pm

bump up then lurk

A man came home form work late, tired and found his 5 years old son waiting for him at the door. "Daddy, may I ask you a questIon ?" "Yeah, sure, what is it?" replied the man. "Daddy, how much do you make an hour? " " If you must know, I make $20 an hour."" Oh,"the little boy replied, with his head down, looking up, he said, "Daddy, may I please borrow $10" the father was furious, "If the only reason you asked

that is so you can borrow some money

to buy a silly toy, then you go to bed." The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door. After about an hour or so,the man had calmed down. And started to think. Maybe there was something he really needed

to buy with that $10 and he really didn't ask for money very often. The man went to the door of the iIttle boy's room

and opened the door."Are you asleep, son?" he asked. "no daddy," replied the boy. "I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier." said the man, "Here's the $10 you asked for." the little boy sat straight up, smiling. "Oh, thank you daddy!" he yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills. The man, seeing that the boy already had money, started to get angry agaIn. The little boy slowly counted out his money, then looked up at his father. "Why do you want more money? Is you already have some ?" the father asked. "Because I didn't have enough, but now I do. "the little boy repiied, "Daddy , I have $20 now. Can I buy an hour of your time ?Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you."

That was touching, but what did it have to do with Galvatron?

Thanks Waaaaghlord! I've got to go think about it now, but seeing the parts compared to Universe Galvatron gives me a good idea of it's size. I'm a little more interested in it now than I was a couple days ago.
