Ironhide's MechTech Gun Won't Lock

I just got voyager Ironhide yesterday and I'm having trouble with his MechTech weapon. I can't get it to lock into place. The twisting knob doesn't do anything. Has anyone else had this issue and how can I resolve it?
Please note: If you think I may be joking, I probably am.
