instead of leader class ironhide, they should have just made ratchet smaller, making all the autobots almost perfectly proportionate.

Ironhide is fine as is. He stands great next to LP and still towers over the car bots like barricade and bb.
If they do a Blackout in bigger size, he better be really big. Cuz his alt form would still need to be roughly twice the size of Prime's to be in scale. Which I'm sure they wouldn't do because that'd be enormous and wouldn't fit in the Leader box. Basically Hasbro follows the "box scale" rule. Many many years ago Revell came up with the idea of making a bunch of ship models in different scales that'd all fit in the same standard box size. So you might have an Arizona in 1/624 going into the same size box as an Iowa class 1/750 or some other screwy size. Hasbro seems to just make the thing fit each box size and that's how they compute scale. Ratchet sucks because he's too big. Some of his heft should have been reserved for Ironhide.
No more autobots should be leaders, but most of the decepticons would adapt nicely to the required size, but I got the feeling that any of the ones that got a Voyager class would be the last to get a leader class, other then Prime and Megatron of course. Makes sense.

Voyager Ironhide is pretty epic to me, he's got FOUR missiles, more than Primus or Galaxy Convoy. Pretty good already, although that doesn't beat out movie Starscream.
Nevertheless, we need to balance out the Autobots. I would like more non-movie but movie universe figures like Longarm, but new molds as well, potentially within the Voyager or even Leader range. Maybe a new mold of a Jetfire character as the Autobots regather their forces. 5 or 4 Autobots hardly count as an army anyway. Don't you guys remember Cybertron series?? It was even more epic!

Ratchet is a Hummer, how can he be small?
they could have made the parts thinner, rather than so chunky. or made ironhide more blocky.
or they could have concentrated more on the bots themselves instead of the alts, but they had an agreement with GM.

And, if your worried about scale, why aren't you complaining about Ultimate Bumblebee?
I don't like Ultimate Bumblebee. He's out of my list from the start.

GMC TopKicks are gigantic ... much bigger than the H2. Granted, the rescue H2 version is bigger than your standard H2, but that still wouldn't put it close to the TopKick.
Think of your average flat bed tow truck. The newer ones are based on the TopKick.
That's why ratchet should be smaller.

Ironhide is almost on scale with Leader Prime, but not quite. Having a smaller ratchet figure would be the easy solution, but of course it's too late for that. Changing 1 bot(ratchet) to fit the scale of 2 others is easier than changing both Prime and IH.
Of course this is a moot point now, but still. Depending on the stages of toy development ... if this issue came up before production, figure redesigns could've gone either way.
Eh, this is getting pointless so i'll stop now.

Why does Ironhide need a Leader Class toy? His Voyager Class figures is plenty good enough.
I'd also say that he does not warrant a Leader toy due to his little characterisation and part in the movie, but that goes doubly for Brawl yet he got a figure.
The best part is realistically we are not going to get anymore leader class figures from the movie line!! Thank heavens for that!
I think Brawl ogt a toy becuase toi be in Scale when Jazz attacked Brawl he needed to battle someone larger in size.

I love My ironhide but i broke his hand off but i still love him,I need Nail Polish to stregthen his right Hand.
Agreed Quickmix is smaller than Scourge and yet in the show Scourge was a midget compared to Quickmix,Quickmix need to be ultra Class and Scourge Voayger.

Sounds like a completely logical decision to me. At least he ordered the TopKick in the correct color.

Ironhide only needs to be slightly bigger, but not leader class big, I mean, he barely reaches prime's bicep.
A big improvement would be those smokestacks and maybe rubber wheels like prime's toy.

He would be cool, but this forum is about leader class Ironhide, not leader class blackout (or bonecrusher, starscream, Frenzy, or barricade, even though Frenzy and Barricade would be awesome leader-sized).
Autobot Megatron
Like Nemisis Prime, but cooler.

Then maybe we don't need this thread LOL.

Joking aside, don't think Leader Ironhide is necessary. An improved toy is a sure welcome(fixing some minor flaws, add some articulated ankle and feet...etc.), but going up to Leader Class is a bit much.

voyager ironhide is fine already. i won't mind if there's leader class ironhide or deluxe class ironhide, but i think i won't be attracted by them.
the one needed to be leadered is bonecrusher. he is so damn tiny.
wonder if TF 2007 movie toys got their version in WST line.
