Masterpiece MP-36 Megatron Discussion Thread
Re: Takara Tomy MP-36 Megatron Discussion Thread
Will there be ANY retailers that won't use the plug? Will any of them press it into place or otherwise be easily removed? Man I hate this ****.

This would be so much easier if G1 Megatron had never been a realistic gun in the first place. Had Hasbro used some other toy mold than any of the Micro Change Gun Robos, we wouldn't be having this issue (and perhaps Megatron could have transformed more often than he did in the cartoon, since his gun mode rarely ever proved useful since he could already fly in robot mode).

The Chosen Prime won't, either. See my earlier post.

A-E also offers the orange plug. I verified that when I preordered it back in November.

FYI, if this is anything like MP-05 the plastic tray will also be modified to fit the plug. If I remember correctly G1 Megs' barrel extension also had to get a plug, I didn't see a mention about the extension on this figure.

I don't see what the big deal about the plug is, its removable!
Besides them having to open the box to install the plug, everyone would open the box anyway when the get it
Only a small number of resellers would have a complaint because the can't sell a sealed box. oh well, sucks to be them!

While it's old news that US buyers may get stuck with an orange cap, this is the first time that Australia has been mentioned as requiring the orange cap.
See, that's how you handle things diplomatically.

Yeah, I didn't mean to hurt so many people so deeply, but obviously I did. Since I'm an "asshat," I suppose it's only fitting that I find it hysterical that a throw away statement caused such fee-fee damage.
So, does anyone know if the plugs can be removed, and potentially how difficult that is to do? Because that was what my inflammatory post was actually about.

If it's anything like MP-05 it'll run the spectrum of easy to impossible. It depends on how the plugs are installed.

Not going to speak for the others but I just wanted to clarify why I said to other staff why it should have been newsed.
As for it being removable, I was under the impression that those things had to be glued in.

Granted, but if my initial post was the work of being labeled an asshat, then the value has totally fallen out of that market. The fact that I got jumped on by a staff member for a throw away line is far more offensive than what I posted.Burn wrote:Dagon wrote:

Amazingly, that was really all I wanted to know. This was my "problem," according to said staffer. Thanks Burn and Chuckdawg, who also weighed in.

That's some good quoting there.
My understanding could be wrong though. I remember from previous discussions though there was talk that they HAD to be glued in, things may have changed though.
To me though, if it's a requirement for legal reasons, then I can't imagine removing it would be an easy thing.

Yes, it is supposed to be glued in, but there are no requirements for the glue used. Hence, some pop rigjt off, some are permanently bonded. Luck of the draw, really.

Last time some people had to use some remover to remove the glue and it damaged the plastic.

Which company used super glue? I hope they use Elmers Glue instead. Water soluble. If it was hlj why not email them this suggestion? If it's local/domestic importers, then by all means, email them now.
