MP Megatron questions

Now I missed out on him since I didn't have the money at the time, and want to buy one. Thing is, all the go-to places I've used online have none.
Now here's my question; Wouldn't US customs confiscate him if I were to to buy one off someone in Japan for example? So I'm S.O.L?
Advice for a fellow collector?

Been quite a while since I aquired mine, so I cannot recall a lot of the spicifics, although obviously I got it so it can be done. He is packaged in robot mode, so (if you ignore the pictures on the box) that does make it less obvious that it is a realistic looking toy gun. Also, mine was sold with an (easially removable) orange tip added, which again helps to skirt around things. Look for one with such an added tip if you are worried.
Oh, and if you are a fan of the G1's toy's accessories, or have any interest in an accurate alt mode, there's a third party accessory set that will add the finishing touches. Otherwise, the gun mode only has the scope, but no stock or barrel extensions.

Good hunting!

It's also possible a new MP Megs will be released at some point seeing as Tak rebooted the MP line.
So might be worth while waiting.

True. I did a quick check on eBay US, there's a few available right now. At least they're in the US and you won't have to be concerned about customs.

Re: MP Megatron questions
If I didn't already own MP Megatron, I'd we waiting for the scaled down version that is sure to follow, now that they are standardizing all the MP figures. Not that the original isn't a great figure, I quite like him, but I do fully expect a new MP Megs down the road. Not a for sure thing though, I could see some roadblocks. Takara might not want to deal with the export rules around toy weapons, and also it seems they like to use molds they can get more than one figure out of (MP Browning, anyone?). Also, they may just give us Galvatron and leave it at that. Still, if I was in your shoes at this point in time, I'd hold out for an in-scale Megatron.

Thanks for the advice guys. I guess I'll wait for another version since I've already waited this long.

They could always use the G2 design to skirt around the gun nonsense.

YES! YES! YES! But you know what's wierd---the original G2 is already to scale with the new MPs.

Unlike the "hero" mold, it's a tad lacking in articulation.

MP Megs is about 12" tall - taller than most Leader class, but shorter than most Supremes. About the same size as MP-01, to be exact.

He stands about 12 inches to the top of his head, about 14 inches if you measure up to the tip of his gunbarrel. What's that these days? Leader class?

Most leaders are about 10", maybe 11". Supremes are 14"+, so MP Megs is in-between sizes there.
