New collector with a quick question.
Hello everybody! I've just recently "rediscovered" collecting Transformers and am trying to get the majority of the new movie figures. I cannot for the life of me find some of the ones I'm looking for and I really don't want to pay the ridiculous prices on Ebay for them. My question is will there be more shipments of the current movie figures at a later date or will the next wave be all new figures? Say I can't find a Deluxe Barricade, will there be more in Wal-Marts etc. in September or whenever, or should I just get one for as cheap as I can on Ebay now. I'm new to all this again. Thanks!

Welcome, you are pretty much experiencing the same situation as the rest of us, as for ebay that is up to you if you want to wait for more shipments.

Hi and welcome.
Yes there will be re-stocks of the movie figs. Its just that Hasbro has messed up and they havnt made enough toys to meet demand as they have been selling out everywhere thanks to the movie hype.
Come October though there should be plenty around, but things will get sparce again when the holiday season arrives and the TF movie DVD is released, that will spark all ne whype and kids will want more toys for xmas so i suggest you keep a good eye out now and buy whatever you can whenever you see it and dont wait.

Hi,
Welcome to Seibertron and to the TF collecting world!
Yes Most of the figures are difficult to find right now, but there is supposedly a delay in manufacturing and restocking. This delay seems to me to be a bit longer than normal but delays in significant restocking are common when you're talking about a major toy line with a major motion picture backing it.
My advice to you would be to wait. There will eventually be significant stock to satisfy demand though it may be taking a while. I have been collecting for many years and make it a point never to buy from the snakes as I call them. Just keep looking as often as you can. I think you'll find that you will run into a few figures here and there. Don't just limit yourself to the major department stores. Some grocery stores and drug stores stock the toys as well, though they will cost you a couple bucks more. I know going from store to store isn't an option for everyone, but if this is your case then it might be beneficial to go the ebay route, but I strongly recommend against it if possible. This is just how collecting is these days, you have to be able to hunt down the figures yourself if you don't want to buy from the snakes.

Thanks for the help everyone. In that case I think I'll just hold off until they're restocked to pick up the ones I'm missing. Ebay is a rip-off for the most part when it comes to these figures.

seriously. : ( I've prolly wasted more gas driving to different stores than actually BUYING the toys.

Exactly, that's why I was debating ebay just for the convenience.

Convenience, interest, tax, aggavation fee, just being alive fee, viewing fee, and just because he feels like adding an extra $20 to the price fee.

Yeah, dont use Ebay unless what you want is priced somewhat reasonably. Ebay can offer bargains, but the scalpers have made TF buying on ebay hard work. Plus morons who think their TF's are worth more than they actually are dont help much either.
