I don't really see why everyone is saying Ultra Magnus...It reminds me more of the Powerlinx Prime redeco from armada. I like it, and in the off-chance I don't have the first version by the time this hits shelves, I'll get this one first... Otherwise, though, not sure about a 40 redeco.

Y'know, if they made a new head, and used this paint job (or a slightly tweaked one), they could easily make this a Ultra Magnus.

I was just thinking the same thing myself - and oddly enough I actually liked the Final Battle version better than the original.
This one, I'm not sure about. Maybe in a darker blue...

I can't believe all the great repaints that came from the Cybertron line only last year, now all of a sudden all the new repaints for the movie line suck ass. Aside from the G1 Jazz repaint, There's not a single one that even looks anywhere near good.
hey now! Evac looks good. Especially with the Raft/Gun remold. And The S7 are cool.
This I'll wait for a cood price, then we'll see. I've been kicking about most of the Leaders though.
I think he says "I want to be Magnus" It's the right Blue, but most of Maggy's truck cab was white.

Hmm, kinda feels like this was Hasbro's way of cranking out another white Optimus without having to hear a whole lot of rattling about lack of trailer-armor. In any case, I'm definitely gonna have to pass.

If they did a Scourge/Nemisis style repaint MAYBE.
If they did a Magnus, I'd say no.
And this here, unless it's a gift, I can't see it joining my collective.

Betcha this one never goes on clearance.
At any rate, I think it's a pretty good looking figure. I'd be annoyed if we were getting another black or white repaint.

Interesting to see a Prime repaint that is not Ultra Magnus, its taken a while too.
This also gives me hope of seeing a repainted Leader Megatron figure.
Prime's colours aren't half bad, aren't half good either though. Wonder if the Lens flare on the chest windows will still be there on the final version?

Oh, & BTW, Cybertron Galaxy Force Optimus was a repaint. I mean sure, it basically replaced all the blue with gray on the figure, added a bit more red....but still it was a non-magnus repaint....

uhmmm, is just me or somebody is trying really hard to make this Prime to look better for the sake of making more money. Don't repaints make more money? Anyway, he's looks the same to me, still won't spend a dime on it ( would on a Skywarp, not on this Prime).

I really wanted to like this figure-don't hate it though. I still might get it if it goes on sale since I don't have the standard leader Prime. Why couldn't it have been more black/gray, really push the stealth/night theme.

yeah the stealth night theme is kinda weak here...Why didn't they just do him in Glossy Robovision colors with chrome, atleast he'd look more closely to the movie and not be a bot color scheme we have not seen.. well let the kids beg for it from their parents, its some of their first repaints....

It doesn't matter I don't think...
I exist, so they've essentially already sold at least one.

I agree with CP here. I'd buy it and call it whatever I wanted.

QFFT!
That is what I always said but no one seemed to agree. Chrome on all the lame grey plastic areas would have done WONDERS to take this guy at almost MP levels of detailing/awesomeness...
That and a damned retractable sword-arm like in the film...I'm looking at YOU Hasbro!!!

Didn't Hasbro say that at the time they made the toy, they didn't know Prime was going to do that in the film?
or am I misremembering that?

Great, ain't it?
Hasbro has and does still make some cool stuff, but an oversight like that is very lame, regardless of the reason.

and I'm not defending Hasbro here, but those toys were designed WAY before the finalized script had been revealed. I don't think it was an oversight, the panel seemed genuinely disappointed they couldn't incorporate that aspect of Prime.

I didn't know that, so I cannot in good conscience fault Hasbro for that. However, an "all chrome" version of Leader Prime would be next to sublime, on par with MP Prime itself. I consider THIS a seriously missed opportunity on Hasbro's part (IMHO).
Because, at least an "all chrome" vs all grey plasticy looking version would be more movie accurate. It would also display even better than the already nice current version (IMHO).
I doubt even Takara will produce one, a tragedy truly.
