New wave of classics?

Postby OPTIMUS MAGNUS » Tue Oct 02, 2007 1:10 am

Hey, sorry if this question has already been answered...does anyone know if there will ever be another wave of the classics figures? I would personally like to see the rest of the Dinobots. a Superion would be sweet too...

The classics 2.0 line will come out under the Universe line in fall of 2008.

I'm pretty sure that's what's been said on the forums, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Can't wait to see that wave. One could only hope for a classics Soundwave. I wonder what his mode would be? I guess it would have to be a boombox? Or mabey an Ipod 160 gig...

I can't wait for the line either. I'm so psyched, cuz they did such a fantastic job with the first line.

Meh, the only ones that interest me are Octane and maybe Galvatron (hopefully they do him some justice). I was hoping for the rest of the dinobots (or at least Swoop) as well as a Classics Bruticus.

*Sigh*

Weapon: Air Rifle
That Wiki page is surprisingly accurate.

Hasblo say they are keen to get some serious repainting action done in 2.0, so Ironhide, Ratchet, Prowl, Bluestreak and Smokescreen are a shoe-in.

We know that there will be at least 10 deluxe figures, and 4 Ultra figures.

But Hasblo are pretty quiet about what else they will be releasing other than Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Galvatron and Octane.

Hasbro Also said that if a character got a figure in Animated, it would not get one in Universe, and viceversa. So Ratchet... no deal,
Prowl again not likely.
Soundwave doubtful.
Ultra Magnus... I wouldn't hold my breath. Magnus has been confirmed for the Animated Line. So its unlikely they'd include him in the Universe line.

I love all of the characters that have been rumored to be in this line but man, I want some of the more off the beaten path guys like: Runabout, Runamuck (in the vein of the recent IDW comics), Nightbeat and who wouldn't love a new rendition of Wheeljack?

NOT true. They did not say thay WOULDN'T, just that it wasn't likely.

They confirmed at least ONE character that would be in BOTH, ergo that likely won't be a "hard and fast" rule.

I thought the line was that no characters would appear in both lines simultaneously. I'm sure there was talk of a Blitzwing in the Universe line, but not until the Animated version was off the shelves; I'd imagine the same would apply to Ratchet and Prowl - they could always do Ironhide, Bluestreak and Smokescreen first, then retool as Prowl and Ratchet once the Animated versions are out of circulation.
