OH For Fu**s sake Energon Scorponock!

first off this might look like a point less rant but trust me there's more to it then meets the eye actually no it's pretty much what it looks like a pointless angry rant.

Now first off I love Energon Scorponock there are just a few things I would change on this guy like his waist but other than that I love this toy.
As I first saw him in the comic I knew I must have him and after much time had past I finally found him, bought him and unpacked him just to find out that his right side panel that connects his shoulder to his body broke in two the bronze coloured piece. I didn't care as I still thought he was awesome and because he was the only one I could find.
Now fast-forward a few years we are now in the year 2008 and I'm at AA08 I found a new one for an awesome price so I bought him, I now had one perfect one and one broken one and I was happy.
Now lets fast-forward again we now have today and guess what I pick up my perfect Scorponock after having him standing about transform him and hear an evil snap. I look at him just to find that the same fu**ing piece had broken!
Seriously that is just *************** ********* ******!!!!!!!!1111111
I have tried exchanging parts but the left and right pieces are differently shaped. So now I have a mismatched Scorponok and a armless Scorponock.
Is this a common thing or is it just my f**king luck?

Weird. No idea if it's widespread or not.

Tnat sucks, man. I hate having to replace a broken figure, only to have the new one break as well. Such bad luck is usually a rare occurence, thankfully. As for Skorpy there, I dunno if it's a recurring problem or not, but it still sucks.

That's really sucky. 2 for 2 .

But I don't quite understand how or what for that matter got broken.

You have a pic that shows the problem area?

Mine is still as god awfully tight as it was when I bough him like 4 years ago.

That's what I was thinking...

I hope it isn't widespread. My own Scorponok is in perfect condish, and I'd like it to stay that way... =/

It dose seem to be GPS, as the parts that were left of it can be crushed very easy but strangely just that right piece as the rest of the parts made in that same plastic are perfectly fine.
Dose the Superlink version use the same coloured plastic?

Wait, d'ya mean the clear plastic part?

The only reason I can imagine that part breaking so easily is a defect in the plastic itself, I don't think clear plastics suffer from GPS.

No the bronze part under the clear plastic cannon.

Wow. If memory serves that part isn't exactly thin plastic.

It must be something to do with the plastic's structure. Must be GPS...

I took a look at mine.

This should not be gps of any kind and I don't know why it's happening to yours.

Perhaps it's the way you're attempting to work the joints?

Pics would help.

I agree with CP. I just pulled out both of my Scorponok's after reading this and they're plastic is still as strong as the day I got them.

CP: Did'nt someone else make a thread a while ago about a similar issue? I believe theirs was diagnosed to be sun damage.

I agree. There is no real gold plastic there. The light tanned part is quite thin though, so I suppose it may break if you pull it in a direction its not meant to go. Such as towards you when holding Scorpy so that he faces you.

but other than that, its really strange it just crumbled like that.

Forgive my ignorance, but gold plastic syndrome? What's that? I can't say I've encountered that so far, and now I'm worried that I'm going to pull out an old TF and find it destroyed by whatever this mysterious gps is.

Something like that happened to me. I got an Energon Scorponock from eBay. It was NISB, but very dusty. The first time I tried to transform it, it snapped in two places, and both parts that broke were that gold-tan colored plastic he has at his elbow and shoulder joints.

I didn't move it awkwardly just the way the joint want you to use it.
The part didn't crumble it just brake really easy the screw hole just pulled itself of as I tock it out of the main body.

I'll provide pics of it as soon as I found my camera.

I have to find another one for a reasonable price. :-(

That is a strange one, can't say I've heard of it happening before, but that could be because Scorpy is a figure that has been out for a while now, and people may not have transformed him for a while.

Seems like a plastic problem that you were unfortunate enough to get twice...

Thanks, looks like all I really have to worry about is my Serpentor, as I don't have any of the listed TF's.
