Questions about buying WSTs

Postby GuyIncognito » Fri Jan 30, 2009 11:18 am

Seibertron's new WST galleries have inspired me to think about buying a few of these. But I have two questions:

1) Are there "legitimate" WSTs as opposed to "knock-off" WSTs? Or are they all basically the same? Is there anything I need to look out for?

2) What are the best places to buy them? eBay? online import dealers? Any particular sites I should try?

All the WST's out there right now other than the dinobots are legit takara product. the dinobots and any other wst's that are due out are by a company called Just it toys. for some reason takara stoped with the awesome wst's so JIT started making them.

the only ones i have are the dinobots, i just got them yesterday, and good god they kick ass!

and it seems that TFSource is a good, fair priced site to go through. thats where i went, fast shipping and great packaging!

hope this helps...

Weapon: Reciprocating Laser Cannon
I remember there are several Knockoff WSTs out there, most of them are variants and easily recognisable (ghost-translucent versions) but I didn't really follow that line...

Not quite. Heerotoysmaker (SP) sells many WSTs. He has created Ramjet, and Dirge, Tracks and Road Rage, iPod Convoy trailer, and more.

I also have a WST Springer from last year's Summerfest show in Japan.

There are KO's of Fort Max, Devastator, Bruticus, Menasor, and Defensor, just like the normal sized versions, but shrunk so they are similar to WST size.

Coolpop would be good to PM if you want to know even more.

No Tak Tomy started it, but others took up the slack.

My favorite atm is WST Devastator.
the nice thing about WST is that they are in better scale with eachother than the G1 line

I sold off a bunch of mine in favor of the new Universe toys. The problem with WST is that they are so delicate.

All the clear seekers are KO's. The only conehead Takara made was thrust. You can tell the difference by looking at the gun/missile launcher. Takara's was fat, like an atom bomb. The KO's actually make the guns look more authentic. Plastic on the KO's are slightly lower then Takara's. If it's going for cheap then chances are the Starscream, Skywarp, and Thundercracker is a KO ($10). The Takara Thrust is pretty easy to find (<$10).
