SHORTAGE OF DIE-CAST.....

Is it just me or are the masterpiece figures having less and less die-cast metal parts?

Die cast metal is just really hard to work with. It chips easily and the paint doesn't adhere very well.

Could you imagine the mess Megatrons legs would be in if they were diecast? After a few transformations they would be chipped and scratched. Starscream would also suffer, I think the reason Prime gets away with it is becasue those sections which are diecast are pretty much left alone during transformation.

Also, if you mix plastic and diecast you tend to get a different surface quality so the diecast areas really stand out. If it is going to be done, it has to be done well.
