Oh whoops, that's two toys of out hundreds that you couldn't get in your home province. Not like you can't take a road trip out of town or have people out of province hook you up.

You cry about scalpers and the FE Fiasco, but you were the one who happily sold six FE figures for $300 for 250% profit. Cool story bro.

You're basically saying all Masterpieces are Takara-only, meaning they were never released outside Japan, right? Wrong.

And no, I'm not wrong, I made a typo. I meant 'Many', not 'any'. No reason to get the ol' panties in a bunch.

This might be a personal problem for you, but to quote a certain evil leader, "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few." And it would simply cost too much for Hasbro to send French packaging to Quebec only, and English to the rest of Canada.

First, when they release a toy to Canada, they just HAVE to make the packaging BOTH in english AND french. From the start.
Second, if the box is in english only, all they have to do is slap a sticker on the box saying the basic info in french and it's OK. That sticker slapping is not what it cost more. Sure, the MIB collectors are screwed, but at least we will get a domestic release.
Then, I'm not sure if spending 100$ in gaz (for those that have a car) or 200$ in bus and taxi fee (for those who don't, like me) is good spending just for toy hunting. Remember that Canada is freacking big and the province of Quebec alone is 4X the size of France. So that mean HUNDREDS of kilometers to travel.

Now, let's see jsut how many TF toys I missed just because there's no french on the box shall we? (And THAT'S JUST FOR LAST YEAR AND THIS YEAR)

-- MP Rodimus
-- 25th anniversary Unicron
-- DOTM Scan series
-- Battle on Cybertron 3 pack
-- FE OP and Megs entertainment pack with the 3 kids
-- DOTM Cyberverse gift set
-- DOTM HA Roadbuster
-- DOTM HA Guzzle
some more TF I don't remember. There's also many non-TF products such as:
-- MLP;FIM blind bag pony set of 12
-- Any Blind Bag ponies
-- The whole MLP;FiM Canterlot line.

And it's not over. What all of this have in common? THEY ARE ALL STORE X EXCLUSIVES.

So yeah. I don't think it's a "little" problem.

Hawr hawr.

First, yeah, for once, I was able to get figures that no one could. I had to go way out of town, by bus to hunt for these. I loaded my credit card to the rim to have two sets. I was planning to open one set, and to keep the other one sealed. Then, I realized that all that money was spent for nothing because there were many more I wanted to buy. So I decided to sell my spare set NOW.

First, forget your 250%-300% profit. You live in a fantasy land. Americans are spoiled like hell for TF price. Canadians are not yso lucky. I paid all of my FE FULL PRICE. Meaning 17$+15% taxes for the deluxes, and 30$+15% taxes for the voyagers.
Now, let's add this up, if I only calculate what the spare set cost me initially.
17+17+17+17+30+30=128 128*15%=19.2 128+19.2=147.2
That 147.20$ for 4 deluxes and 2 voyagers. I'm not counting the bus fee because I got my own set at the same time.

My listing on Ebay was for 320$US for the set. Wow, it look like I will make a SHITTON OF MUNNEY!!!
Not really. I sold the set to a Canadian. The WTF momment passed, I receive my cash... minus all the fees of Paypal AND Ebay. Together, they took over 50$ of fees! Damn! And I still have to pay for shipping.
So, 320-147-22-55=96.
Overall, I made not even 100$ of profit. What is the percentage of profit again?
96/320= 30% of profit.
Wow. That's not too shabby, but it's 30%. A far way to your fabled over 9000% of profit, right?
That left me money in my paypal to buy some more TF. Most of that money I own on my credit card anyway.

I could have gone and bought all the FE Cliffjumpers and FE voyagers I could see. But I didn't. I just chose to sell a spare set I planned not to open to finally have Delicate Warrior and some other things. Beside, selling toys on Ebay is a lot of trouble. With the fees and postages. All for a small profit margin. It's not really worth it.
Next time you see a toy on Ebay that look expensive, think that the seller is probably not making a insane ammount of profit. Same thing goes for anything in any stores.

Beside, I did buy my MP-Rodimus and 25th Unicron and Scan Series Bumblebee off Ebay. All for just a few bucks than the regular canadian price with the taxes. It's just that it take a long time to wait, there's no way to buy anything on clearance, and if there's a defect like two right foots on Kranix, you cannot return it without being screwed over on shipping.
Come see my latest creation, Death Hand, the actual transforming Transformers!

I think the whole French language thing is silly. Kinda sucks for you guys.

I'm gonna just go ahead and say that I think it's unfair to jump up Kanrabat's butt because people are dumb enough to pay that kinda money for some FE figures. I want a FE Bulkhead bad, but I'd never pay that kind of inflated price for one, but at the same time I'm not gonna harsh on him because some fool somewhere had too much money to spend and not enough brains to know how to do it correctly.

I suppose doing the sensible thing and running all the French outta Canada wouldn't work here would it? On a serious note considering the only thing I've even seen for TPRID is a cyberverse Arcee I'm beginning to wonder if Hasbro even makes Transformers any longer. Okay I forgot I did get all the botshots, but still...

Unicron is still warming shelves in nearly every Canadian TRU.

Normally they do bilingual packaging for the entire country, but in the case of store exclusives they usually don't to cut costs, which really is a shame. But honestly, Quebec law is more to blame for that than anything.

And once you do all the math, Kanrabat's auction doesn't seem that bad. People seem to forget how much more expensive Transformers are in Canada.

I consider myself lucky for the price I paid MP Rodimus and 25th Unicron.

Both shipping included, cost me around the same price if I would have paid full price with the taxes. Maybe just a few bucks more. Same thing with Scan series Bumblebee and Target Exclusive DotM Arcee.

Unfortunately, the Kranix minicon have a factory defect: he have 2 right feets. If I bough it locally, I could have just returned it for another. Unfortunately, my only option is to pay 30$ of shipping to return the whole Unicron to Hasbro and they will return me something random of "equal" value. All of my nope.

One thing I wonder. How the hell not putting the French on the box save money. ESPECIALLY WHEN ALL PACKAGING FOR THE NORTH AMERICAN TRANSFORMERS ARE PRINTED IN QUÉBEC! Just look it up on your box, I'm not kidding!

It has to do with setting up the printers with the different phrases. It's more than just printing the boxes off at a home printer. :P There are probably more factors, but I can't come up with any right now.

I disagree. Down here in Australia we get quite a few TF's from quite a few ranges. Remember, we don't have 400 Walmarts either... We had all the Generations, Prime (no FE's *big whoop* like I really care) Masterpieces (even Target carried MP02 & 04, i got 2 on clearance for $25each) TRU had the Rodimus MP on sale for $50, I could go on... My point is why are we all blaming Hasbro when nobody orders their stock. Each company has a buying office, and if they don't put orders through to Hasbro, what did you expect them to do? Force feed stock that nobody ordered?

Yes, 25th Anniversary/Amazon Unicron, it was released as a TRU exclusive in Canada instead of Amazon.

It costs extra because they have to do a separate printing of bilingual packages as opposed to one printing of english-only. Ideally, they would do tri-lingual for all of North & South America, but that allows for much less detail (bios) on the box, and I guess they're not willing to do that, sadly.
