Oh whoops, that's two toys of out hundreds that you couldn't get in your home province. Not like you can't take a road trip out of town or have people out of province hook you up.
You cry about scalpers and the FE Fiasco, but you were the one who happily sold six FE figures for $300 for 250% profit. Cool story bro.
LMAO! Haven't had the opportunity to say this on an internet forum in quite some time but... PWN'D!!!
Hawr hawr.
First, yeah, for once, I was able to get figures that no one could. I had to go way out of town, by bus to hunt for these. I loaded my credit card to the rim to have two sets. I was planning to open one set, and to keep the other one sealed. Then, I realized that all that money was spent for nothing because there were many more I wanted to buy. So I decided to sell my spare set NOW.
First, forget your 250%-300% profit. You live in a fantasy land. Americans are spoiled like hell for TF price. Canadians are not yso lucky. I paid all of my FE FULL PRICE. Meaning 17$+15% taxes for the deluxes, and 30$+15% taxes for the voyagers.
Now, let's add this up, if I only calculate what the spare set cost me initially.
17+17+17+17+30+30=128 128*15%=19.2 128+19.2=147.2
That 147.20$ for 4 deluxes and 2 voyagers. I'm not counting the bus fee because I got my own set at the same time.
My listing on Ebay was for 320$US for the set. Wow, it look like I will make a SHITTON OF MUNNEY!!!
Not really. I sold the set to a Canadian. The WTF momment passed, I receive my cash... minus all the fees of Paypal AND Ebay. Together, they took over 50$ of fees! Damn! And I still have to pay for shipping.
So, 320-147-22-55=96.
Overall, I made not even 100$ of profit. What is the percentage of profit again?
96/320=
30% of profit.Wow. That's not too shabby, but it's 30%. A far way to your fabled over 9000% of profit, right?
That left me money in my paypal to buy some more TF. Most of that money I own on my credit card anyway.
I could have gone and bought all the FE Cliffjumpers and FE voyagers I could see. But I didn't. I just chose to sell a spare set I planned not to open to finally have Delicate Warrior and some other things. Beside, selling toys on Ebay is a lot of trouble. With the fees and postages. All for a small profit margin. It's not really worth it.
Next time you see a toy on Ebay that look expensive, think that the seller is probably not making a insane ammount of profit. Same thing goes for anything in any stores.
Beside, I did buy my MP-Rodimus and 25th Unicron and Scan Series Bumblebee off Ebay. All for just a few bucks than the regular canadian price with the taxes. It's just that it take a long time to wait, there's no way to buy anything on clearance, and if there's a defect like two right foots on Kranix, you cannot return it without being screwed over on shipping.
