1) Do you other collectors have similar figures that you really love but can't stand that they can't stand?
The one I like, HFTD leader Starscream. His knees (at least mine) aren't strong enough to hold his body weight so always have to make the angle right. Also generations Scourage. The wings are just too heavy for him. And ROTF deluxe Sideswipe.
The one I'm okay, DOTM leader Sentinel. Always have to adjust the ankles to make him stand right.
The one I don't really like, ROTF leader Jetfire. Those legs aren't legs. Luckily most of the time he is combined with Prime.
2) Does the fact that a figure can or can't (or appears able/unable to) stand balanced affect your decision to purchase?
Yes, but not that much. If I really like it and need it, I will still buy.
3) Do you think that Has/Tak cares if their figures can stand up, when they are ultimately kid's toys?
I don't think they care. Most of kid's toys are either laying on the floor or piling in a box. It's us who need to stand them up and display.
4) What are your most stable and most unstable standing toys?
Most of them are quite stable. First one comes to mind is my classics Henkei Bumblebee. For the unstable group that not being mentioned above, classics/universe/generations Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, and Red Alert can cause trouble sometimes. Classics Prowl's mold, I found bending his heels a little bit down can improve his balance a lot. So he is quite stable if I do that.

Did you slide his feet backward? If you do so, he is very stable.
