The gym I work out at is right by a TRU so I randomly decided to check their stock of figures two days ago. I was pleasantly surprised to find Classic Deluxe Ramjet, Grimlock and Cliffjumper on the shelves as well as quite a few Cybertron toys and a Prime vs Megatron pack. I only got Ramjet and Grimlock for a few reasons, but decided to check back in the store today out of hopeless optimism. Seeing the other figures on shelf gave me a little hope of finding Classic Starscream at a reasonable price rather than the scalpers special.
I noticed that the overhead display for their shelves hides another shelf right after I noticed that the shelves were bare except for the unwanted figures. I also noticed that there was a stock of boxes that I could barely see though the little slot between the shelf and the display banner. So, being curiuos I checked to see what I could find and found every figure that I mentione dbefore- sans the ones that I myself purchased- hidden up in that little storage shelf. They were the exact same ones. That's just pretty sad to stock it and then someone else hide it like that. I almost bought some of them just to be spiteful, but all I want is SS.
Would be nice if the stores actually put figures on shelves so that customers could purchase them though.
Stores Hiding Figures

That's not a hiding space for the Employees... well, it is, but not for some sinister reason. That's simply and overstock area for when the pegs get full, or to replenish a display that may be picked over.
Now for a customer low on cash it does make for a handy hiding spot, but you typically have to relocate the figures you want to another section or group of toys.
But yes, now that you've discovered this area be sure to look up there more often.

You should always check the uppermost "storage" shelves, they often have some pretty good stuff hiding up their, especially at stores like TRU.
Awesomesauce; Use it, you know you want to.

I am 6'8 and often check the bins, but you need to be careful sometimes the doors are half way off and rigged up there, also sometimes they stack things on the hinges, you do not want to open the thing you are not supposed to open and kill a kid on another isle, they put those large crashed X-wings, and used to have Primuses and Large Starcreams up there.

I'll take one of those Blackouts!!! He's the only Voyager Class I'm missing now. The box can be beat to hell, too, since I'm opening everything.

I do understand that it's an area used for overstock, the only odd thing is that everything that I saw up there had been out on the shelf two days prior. I had looked up at the bin but it had been empty. Going back today they had been taken down off of the shelves and put up in the storage area. The random, more unwanted toys had been redistributed through the display and put back up quite neatly.
I wouldn't comment on it at all if it wasn't the exact same figures and the exact same number that was left that day when I left. It seemed like too much of a coincident for it to be a new shipment that they just hadn't pulled down to display.

I have one. 2 weeks ago i went to TRU trying to find some movie figures. They had no movie figures(and i mean zero movie figures) but they did have 4 brand new Soundwave reissues. Theres no way that they could've just gotten them because he went out of production a while ago. I think that they either hide them for later stocking (like when they dont get shipments) or they get buried some were and forgotten. Ive seen this happen other times as well and in other stores.
