What do you mean?

I just mean that he looks super close to the cartoon model from many many angles, but not the back.

Pretty close with the Stand clipped on, though?

I don't mind additional pieces if it keeps the figure looking good. I'd rather they did that then see another Ravage that just looks wrong vs the other Cassette guys. The only thing that bugs me is that backpack looks a little bigger then I would like. I do already have Quakewave which in itself is a very nice figure so I'll have to decide if I want to keep that one or go for this official version.

I doubt he'd be modified, he looks nothing like a "real" gun. Megatron was modeled after the Walther P38 so he needed it. But, you never know. Every other gun sold in the U.S. no matter how fake has a bright barrel. Didn't even think about it myself.

EDIT: Just go to Nerf and see, even the Super Soaker water guns have bright barrels. Dang it. Now I think he will be modified even though he'll probably ship in bot mode (MP5 and Apollyon did too).

Yah. Agreed. Even Amiami also calls him Shockwave now. And they're Japanese.

I was surprised myself he wasn't called Laserwave too. So until we see his actual box, Shockwave would be the best and most notorius designation that fits the monocular mechanism.

Though being an international site, to avoid confusing their customers, Amiami is going for the American name.

I translated the romanized name they used, Shockwave is indeed called ンスフォーマー マスターピース MP-29 防衛参謀レーザーウェーブ.Defense Staff Laserwave (maybe for their domestic Japanese customers)

Takara Tomy took the world by storm when they revealed that a Masterpiece Shockwave figure was coming out in 2016 (and first quarter to boot!). While we have had a whole bunch of coloured images we now have the box art revealed as well along with a breakdown of his promotional images (courtesy of fellow Seibertronian Autobot032). He is titled MP 29 Destron Lazerwave, enjoy!
