That Greatshot looks really good. I don't have any version of the Sixshot mold yet so I will definitely go for this version if it's easy enough to get by. After all, I really do prefer to collect Autobots and that Quickswitch deco didn't score any points with me. Do we have any release date for this figure?

Both are tentatively set for March 2018, and are exclusive to TakaraTomy Mall.

Thanks! If I remember correctly, the upcoming God Ginrai set with Minerva and Cab was also a TakaraTomy Mall exclusive and I was able to order it from a another site. Hopefully I will be able to do the same with Greatshot

Once again, I'm going to stick up for Titans Return Quickswitch. Yes, Hasbro could have done more remolding, but he at least has his own face, which is the most important part of any character's appearance. The paint job, though, really sells it. In hand, Quickswitch is gorgeous, and there are tons of little alterations you can make to the transformations, especially in robot mode, to make Quickswitch look more like his G1 toy self and less like a simple Sixshot redeco. That said, Greatshot looks GORGEOUS, and I hope Takara eventually gives us Sixknight too.

The Fans Project version is SO much better, plus you can use fan-modes to make it look even closer to the G1 toy. They even have his "brother", and both can be found pretty cheap, too. Normally, I wouldn't promote FP molds these days, but they are light-years in front of the recoloured Hasblo version:
- https://tfsource.com/fansproject/knight/
I have seen both going for around 40 dollars in sales at various sites, but 70 dollars isn't so bad. Both are a steal.

Some people (myself included) don't do 3rd party stuff and would much rather have official versions of these characters.

Well, these are Takara exclusives that Hasbro has never done, so you can just buy these without guilt!
He is probably referring to all the other Legends figures in this thread that we newsed at the same time, like Seaspray and company.
And there are tons of reasons to buy Hasbro figures. Cheaper cost for one, but also you get more for what you pay, even if you are in Japan by comparison. For instance, while the Hasbro version of Topspin and Twintwist do not come with the targetmasters, their price point is about 10$ less AND you get exclusive titan master compatible guns that Takara will never get. Also, Takara sells things together in this line so the sale model is not very comparable. Lets say you already have the Hasbro Lione then you are stuck paying for him again when you buy Legends Seaspray.
So with hasbro you are given the option to buy just what you want in your collection instead of feeling compelled to buy one figure just because it comes with something else you want.
That is besids the point that takara can easily cost you double the cost of a hasbro figure depending on where you are located.
Case in point, Hasbro Kup cost me $13 while Takara Kup would cost me $40 (maybe even more).

And while we're on Top Spin and Twin Twist, it's worth noting that a lot of Takara versions have little to no worthwhile differences to the Hasbro versions beyond other figures/accessories they're packed with. Top Spin, Twin Twist, Seaspray, Brawn, Broadside, Windblade, Triggerhappy... and then you've got some of the early line stuff where they went for something that was neither outright superior or inferior, but just a different take on the character. Hardhead, Hot Rod, Brainstorm, etc.

I'm assuming some of the big online retailers/importers have a way to get around this. I'm not too concerned about 2,000 orders happening.
The fact that the previous legends reissues did not pass the treshold asked for tells me that its just TTMall. If there was a way to get around it through other retailers, then there would be enough demand for nothing to have been cancelled, which wasnt the case.
What other first run exclusives didn't pass the threshold? The reissues didn't pass because there wasn't enough interest, but with brand new characters unavailable previously, I doubt that would be the case here.

I read that about the sales and that might be true. I also wouldn't normally recommend Fans Project stuff. However, compared to the Hasbro offering, it's SO much better, especially if you can get it cheaply. If you look around, you might find either of them for around 40 dollars, which is a worth it.
If you're not interested in any third party figures, and you want these characters, you're going to have to pucker up and (ironically) part MORE for them (including a version that isn't really that true to the original toy).
That said, I'm not going to pursue this in this forum, as it is about these official figures. However, people have got fairly cheap(er) options right now, so there's less reason to moan!

That's how I feel myself. I buy official TFs from both Amazon Japan and other sites, and American ones from BBTS/Sirtoys. I might even buy the American versions of Twintwist and Topspin just for the guns for my Takara versions (and keep the targetmasters septate, which is a huge waste from both perspectives). However, with regards to some figures, the opposite is true, such as with Hasbro popping certain characters, like Quickswitch, in 100 dollar boxes sets...

Not sure it is the best example. Takara Kup is, in my opinion, so much better. Although I agree that some Takara version are not always worth the extra bucks, some do. Takara Kup has a much more accurate deco to the cartoon, as well as a different head all together. Even though he doesn't come with the jetpack forming guns, he has a cool targetmaster he ended up being partnered with in the 4th season of the american show. The show deco and head plus the targetmaster was well worth a few more bucks.

Ironically, it's Madlaw and Sixknight that encouraged me to get the Takara Greatshot over the Clonedroid version, as I THINK (not sure) the Clobedroid and Hexatron versions are bigger than the TR Greatshot/Sixshot. My order at Sirtoys had a hiccup and they were removed, so I'm probably just going to get the Clonedroid Blackshot instead. Once I get the official Greatshot, I want to post a group shot (no pun intended), of all four "shots", sotospeak, together.

WJ88, I understand where you're coming from, but Kup is perhaps the WORST example you could have used here. Takara Legends Kup is hands down superior to Hasbro's release in almost every way. Yes, it lacks Hasbro's combinable guns for a Titan Master to sit in, but it instead has his classic Titanmaster partner, an all new sculpt Takara made that Hasbro might never release. On top of that, Takara's Kup has a much better head sculpt, retooled shoulders and lower arms, and a color scheme and paint job that makes it look like their version just walked out of the G1 cartoon and onto our display shelves. Legends Kup is worth paying almost triple what it would cost for Hasbro's offering. Honestly, the difference is about as apparent as Titans Return Blurr versus Legends Blurr. You know which one everyone really wants.
