The Official Transformers: Animated Discussion Thread!
Re: The Official Transformers: Animated Discussion Thread!
she must some highly advanced robot to require breathing and concepts like emotions. but still, the robot girl theory is cool for me. ... just as long as she doesn't make out with other robots like some series out there.

(TV animation)themes for the past few years: mini-cons, power-linking, energon weaponry, hypermodes, cyber planet keys.
for 2008 it's extremities in the lower jaw area of the heads.

Re: The Official Transformers: Animated Discussion Thread!
I'm a Brit, & I'm just wondering what it's airing schedule is over in America, as I'm watching it on youtube. Is it every saturday from now 'til the end of the series or what???
Basically when should I check Youtube for new episodes?
Overall I liked it. I second whoever said about the alt mode movements when talking. It makes it feel like that Pixar movie "Cars".
I don't like Sentinals face, he does indeed look like "the Tick".
Sari wasn't as bad as I was expecting. And I ended up not being too pissed of with her Dad's role, I was expecting a total annoying arse.
I liked the references to G1, but I'm not too sure about this Ratchet being THE Ratchet...
Bumblebee's voice still annoys the frick out of me

I loved the new series (so far anyway) after having doubts when I first saw the character designs. I can live with them though. It was fun to watch which is more than I can say for Armada, Energon and Cybertron.
Oh and since its gotten mentioned so often in this thread, for those who missed it here are Spike, Carly and Daniel.

the special airs again this Saturday(the 29th)
then the series officially starts the next saturday(5th of january)
not sure if just the first episode be itself or the fourth episode, but I'm sure there will be a "new" episode every saturday morning.

Wow. This show is really bad...
...ASS! Omg, it was so freaking cool. Totally makes the Unicrap Trilogy look like bullsh*t. I wish we could have seen more of the Decepticons. The Autobots and Decepticons were awsome. I really can't see how even the G1 fanboy could hate this, with all the homages and even the G1 footage in the beginning. Even the animation style doesn't bother me. And no cheesy lines, and it desn't seem like a big commercial. And there's actually a plot. A question, though, what happened to the other three Decepticons?
Finally, a TF show I can watch.

You may be right
They showed him 50 years in the past after he finds Megatron and to be the father of a small child at his age?
She said she hasn't been in a public school
I wonder...lol she could be made of parts he took off of Megatron

Frick, how did I not see that!
It was half a decade... he must have been quite old when he had her....
Either set up for the robot theory, or just a continuity error... which never happens in transformers

The reason her dad is unmarried is because Sari is adopted. It says so in her preview profile. No offense but your theory sounds way too much like the truth about the Red Ranger, Mack, on Power Rangers: Operation Overdrive.

The "conversation" thing was the Allspark scanning/reading/communicating with her mind.
Oh, and how do I get the name in a quote up next to the bug quotation mark instead of under it?

Didn't read that profile

Oh, use the quote button to quote someone, don't just add a quote box. That way you get their name automatically added in the right place in the right format.

I don't think Sari is a robot. If you were a robot, I think you would know. She acted like she's completely human and proud of it. The conversation with the Allspark was interesting but there's no reason why the Allspark couldn't interact with organic life.

He meant you need to reply to a post by clicking the Quote button at the top right of each post. Alternatively you can do it manually. See the code below for an example.
- Code: Select all

Don't confuse the poor dude just yet

At the top of a post there's a button that says "Quote". It should be just left of the Username & Avatar (picture). Click that & the site will automatically set up the code shown above.

I do click the Quote button. But that's what happens. Am I not typing something? What was that
thing in that code box?

You shouldn't need to type anything! The Quote button should do it all for you. If it doesn't then I don't know why but you can do it manually. Type:
- Code: Select all
at the beginning of the quoted text and then:
- Code: Select all
at the end of the quoted text.
For example:
- Code: Select all
This is an example.
would produce:
OmnisValidus wrote:This is an example.
Hope that helps.
If the quote button continues not to work, you might want to PM one of the Mods in case its a problem with the board.

Hrrrm, thats odd... your quotes are coming up with the
Someone said: format, instead of the
format...... Don't know why it'd make a difference, but what operating system & web browser are you using?

Re: The Official Transformers: Animated Discussion Thread!
I'll admit, I went in with anything but an objective mind. The first 5 minutes were dreadful, then things heated up, and eventually I really got into it. The toys don't appeal to me and I doubt I'll continue to watch the cartoon, but as far as animated movies go, this wasn't too bad. I still think it doesn't hold a candle to G1 or Beast Wars, but it was still enjoyable. I fully expect it to only get better as it goes along.
Quick points:
-Animation grows on you, it may not suit transformers but it works
-The humans were a multi-culture fest, but at the same time I think that's pretty cool. The scientist guy being Indian is pretty stereotypical, but his kid being Indian was pretty cool. I think that's a first for any American TV show.
-Characters are sort of mixed up but work. Bumblebee seems to have a lot of Jazz influence and part wheelie, Ratchet is the ambulance version of Ironhide and Kup, Prime is Hot Rod, etc... but they all work and I expect kids to attach to them pretty well. Voices were tough to get used to but well done. Blitzwing is awesome. Megatron was pretty boring in my opinion, I hope to get more of a personality from him. Starscream was awesome.
-The deux ex machina key is annoying, but it's far more annoying if it's going to just bring everyone back to life. It takes all the suspense out of the show. Oh Prowl is dead, but wait he's alive now, thanks key. Oh crap bumblebee took a huge hit from megatron, but don't worry we have the key let me just plug it into his forehead. Oh man Prime's dead, don't use the key --it's useless-- it's only 2 for 2. Oh wow it worked he's not gray anymore! That means life is restored, awesome. Yay happy colors! ... They kept playing with the autobots lives and it got old really fast, and if there was one main reason to quit the show I think it'd be this one.
-Bright colors and goofy fun are sort of new to Transformers, only show I think is similar is Robots in Disguise, but this time we have the American sort of hip spin to the Transformers. It works pretty well and I really hope kids enjoy this, but overall I don't think it's for me.

Anyone notice the "Omega" defense Optimus ordered from the ship, but it wasn't activated because of the effort to conserve energon?
The ship has the same colors as Omega Supreme... You think the ship has a robot mode?
Could have been mentioned already and I missed it...

Actually the ship is colored more like one of the Autobot Shuttles in the G1 movie.
Also, the mentioning of the words Alpha, Omega, and Epsilon are just the using of Greek letters. They aren't direct references of Omega Supreme, Alpha Trion, or whatever Epsilon has been used for, if it's been used.
