All right, this is kind of odd.

I was at Target today, and decided to finally pick up Acid storm because there weren't any other Transformers there I didn't have.

So, here's a question... How does an Acid Storm in European packagin wind up in the eastern United States? Because that's exactly what happened. It didn't ring up at the register, either, but I told the guy it was ten bucks and that's what I got charged. (Before you say I should have said it was cheaper, let me say that I don't lie much. It's not that it's against my principles, it's that I'm no good at it.)

So, has anyone else seen toys show up at their local store in packaging meant for another part of the world? Or is it just me?

Hey if you go to a Big Lots your find the Ultimate Battle pack from over seas. It's good times to find things like that.
I'm looking for Purple animated Shockwave or DOTM Shockwave. Hit me up!

Just before Christmas, Smyth's (which is a big retailer over here) got in a load of Takara Movie toys to sell at discount. That really surprised me. I would never expect Takara stuff, outside of comic shops and places that cater to collectors and import small numbers of them. I thought Hasbro and Takara had an agreement.

But it was mostly unsellable pegwarmers like Skorponok and Protoform Starscream. I figure they must've got a deal on the stuff.

When I was a kid, I remember this happening quite a bit. The heyday was over, and a lot of the G1 stuff I managed to get seemed to be old stock from other countries that would turn up from time to time. The Optimus I got was Mexican-made, and badly.

Are you sure it's European? American packaging has one to three languages, while the European one has twelve! And I have yet to see Universe in Dutch toy stores, so I'm a bit skeptical. :-?

Totally sure. Twelve languages, includin English, Italian, and Greek. I'm baffled as to how it wound up on this side of the Atlantic.

I'd assumed everyone had already seen European Universe pacaging,so I went ahead and opened the toy. I can probably find somewhere to scan the cardback, though, if it's really important.
